2016 Jay Flight 29QBS Elite

For those of you who ordered a tt, how long did you have to wait for dealer to let you know the 'build date'?

I sure like the options/standard's available on a 2016 Jay Flight since buying the JF G2 29bhs back in 2009! The fiberglass siding and frameless window were on our wish list, we ultimately wound up with the aluminum siding.

Here's what we ordered....

2016 Jay Flight 29QBS Elite
Required
-Customer Value Package
Chosen Options
-Customer Value Package w/ 15,000 BTU A/C
-Elite Package
-Thermal Package
-Electronic Sway Control
-Cargo Accessory Receiver
-Aluminum Rims
Interior Decor - Coffee (fabric vs 'leather')

2016 Jay Flight 29QBS | Jayco, Inc.

We ordered on Feb 12, with "estimated arrival" being April 23. No build date yet. But sounds like it will be built in mid to late April.

I ordered on 11/08/15 and got the build date on 11/23/15.. So it was about 2 weeks.
My salesperson called me and told me the 'off the line' date was 01/08/16, I didn't ask, so the date may have been available earlier had I asked.

It ended up coming off the line on 01/15/16, so it was about a week late. it arrived at the dealership one week later on 01/22/16

Top Bunk Access

How are 29QBS owners setting up the quad beds for an easy climb up to the tops bunks?

I ordered mine mid December and it was ready by the 19th of January.

I think the date really depends on what is on the assembly line at the time and when the change over is scheduled for the next product line (TT, vs. 5er, etc.)

We have the 29QBH, 2012 MY, essentially the same unit before they started offering a outdoor kitchen and changed the number.

We love it, the combination of length and dedicated bunk room fit our needs perfectly.

My daughters sleep on the top bunks, ages 10 & 7, they are able to simply make an acrobatic move to jump up there. I considered making a simply ladder out of PVC, but never had to.

By the way Denise, it's nice to see you back posting on the forum.

We were contacted yesterday..... we now have a 'build date'!!!

April 4! Looks to be one day short of six weeks from 'order' to 'build'. However, that time doesn't include time for 'delivery' (we are picking the tt up ourselves in Indiana)

Now just waiting for the truck's official build date, which is scheduled for the week of March 28

Ladder/steps for Top Bunks

Jayco has a new HT model coming out. It has steps with drawers for ease of access to the top bunks

Here's what our bunks will look like...

So we're considering a mod to make the actual cabinet become a three step with the drawers set up. Has anyone done this, or know of another website/forum that someone did this mod?

That would be an excellent modification. Drawers would be much more useful for us opposed to an hanging wardrobe. I wonder if you can ask Jayco to do it so as to ensure the wood matches.

I wonder if the width would be the same. Can't hurt to ask! I'll give my factory rep a call.

That does look awesome, we have the outdoor kitchen so ours actually had a ladder but I would love to have the drawers anyway! More practical for kids stuff.

Congratulations. I know how it feels to wait for your new unit. It can be difficult to sit still for that long. But, the payoff of having a new unit is a great feeling.

Looking forward to pictures when you have it parked at home.

Ya know... DH and I decided that we will definitely look into changing that cabinet into a step/drawer set-up. Of course, I will post whatever mod we come up with

Thanks! All these mods should come with a 0-10 rating system so I know if it's something I should tackle!

Majority of first time pics will be on the two week road trip heading home. Bummer is that we no longer have rv parking, so when not camping, we will have some kewl storage pics

Definitely!

Ohhhh my goodness, with grandkids joining us with the local camping ops, we definitely like eazy-peezi! Not to mention when the mod can serve more than one purpose If we can make this happen, it will be a 10!

Thanks Clubhouse! Nice to be back!!! It's been fun picking out a new rv that will fit the future needs of our extended family. I'm sure Jayco is happy that we wound up choosing them once again

How very kewl to once again explore the nation outside of textbooks/articles via hotels! We both are ready to hit the road again, or, just simply hang out at local campground opportunities!
