2016 White Hawk 28dsbh shipping weight on yellow sticker

Hi,

I was thinking about purchasing a White Hawk 28dsbh, but I am a bit confused on the trailer's weight.

For 2016 28dsbh, Jayco's website says the unloaded vehicle weight is 6020 lb. Is this the shipping weight, or is this the weight before any option is added?

For those who own a 2016 28dsbh, could you please tell me what's the weight stated on the yellow sticker on your trailer? I think this is the actual shipping weight (i.e. with the options included on that trailer), right?

Need to know the actual shipping weight so I can decide whether I should go after this model, or if I should change my tow vehicle.

Thank you very much.

How could 6020lbs be the shipping weight if it's not known what options are chosen? All brochure dry weights are without added options. Every unit will be delivered heavier than the brochure weights.
JMO but if you're worried about a few 100lbs then you are looking at too much trailer for your tow vehicle. No one should be trying to max out their tow rig with a trailer. Give yourself some wiggle room.

I can easily believe the empty weight is 6020 lbs, and depending on the options it's probably more than that. I heard that Jayco went with a plywood floor instead of the lighter underlayment that we had on our 2014.

Our yellow sticker showed 5937 lbs empty. We found that loaded (ready for camping) the weight was give or take 6680 lbs.

Just to give you an example, here are the weights when we took it to a CAT Scale with the tow vehicle at that time. I have since moved to an Eagle 284BHBE and a F-350.

2012 F150 Stats:
3.5 Ecoboost, Max Tow, 3.73 with 6.5 ft bed
GVWR 7700 lbs
Max payload: 1685 lbs

2014 28DSBH Stats:
Summit Edition, 15K A/C, Insulation Package
Empty 5937 lbs (yellow sticker)

1) First Scale: F150 only with family and full gas tank
Steer Axle: 3700 lbs
Drive Axle: 2960 lbs
Trailer Axle: Nil
Total: 6660 lbs

2) F150 with family, full gas tank and Weight distribution engaged
Steer Axle: 3520 lbs
Drive Axle: 3740 lbs
Trailer Axle: 6080 lbs
Gross Weight: 13340 lbs.

Hope this gives some real world data.

Welcome to the forum. The published weights on the website will likely be a couple hundred to several hundred lbs less then the actual yellow sticker weight as delivered. This will reduce the actual cargo carrying capacity of the unit, the sticker will indicate that as well. The delivered and loaded hitch weights will be more as well. This is the case most of our members have reported when comparing published dry weights to delivered weights.

I have a question on the tongue weight - the options added to the trailer may increase or decrease the tongue weight. Did anybody weight the dry tongue weight of this trailer with the options? The dry weight without options is 655 lbs.

How does the tongue weight change with the water in the tanks, in other words, are the tanks somewhere close to the axles or more to the front?

Hi, Bizzle:

Thank you very much for posting a picture of your yellow sticker. It looks like the shipping weight is about 300-400lb heavier than 2015 model. Most 2015 model's shipping weight is close to 6000lb, I think.
