24RBS Owners..... couple questions.

I made an appointment to pick up our 2017 24RBS on April 14th. I was wondering if anybody that has theirs at home could tell me the distance from the back of the trailer to the rear edge of the slide. I want to take a tape measure and see if I can have the slide open without having to be halfway down the driveway due to a neighbors fence.

Also and I know this question has a lot of variables but what weight specs does your WDH have? I'm pretty sure I'm going to get the Equil-I-Zer but I cannot decide if I should get the 1000lb or 1200lb tongue weight version. I have the fiberglass version of the TT and my "as completed" sticker says it weighs 5981lbs. I understand that if the trailer was fully loaded (7500lbs) and I was at a 15% tongue weight that it would be 1125lbs. I hope to never be loaded like that but I want be prepared. I also do not want the harshness of the 1200 lb bars if they are not needed.

Wish it was home already, it's 74 degrees today!!

Thanks in advance for your input!

I can measure tomorrow.

I have the 1000 and was easily able to overload the front axle of the TV!

Thanks. I'm looking forward to that info. Do you know your tongue weight?

Any others?

Just came back sorry for the no response. Don't remember the tongue weight from last year. Never wrote it down. I know I was a little over 700lbs.

I got the 1,000/10,000lb WDH.
Don't have a measurement on exact tongue weight yet. Haven't had it to the CAT scales.

I decided to contact Equil-i-zer directly and gave them the specs of the trailer and the specs on my truck. They recommend that I go with the 1200/12K unit so I did. Although I took my own tools and was prepared to set it up, my dealer said they would take care of it no problem. Other than the short drive home, my first trip was this weekend. I have to say, I don't feel like it is set up properly. I don't think it's way off but it's not exactly right. This trailer is about 2200 lbs. heavier than my old unit so that may be a part of it. I have about 2" of squat in the rear. There is a CAT scale a few miles away so I plan on heading there to get some weight measurements and possibly make some adjustments before our next trip.

I have a Tundra, max payload, max towing.
I am about 1" squat in rear but only 1/4" rise in front.
I can definitely tell the TT is back there. I didn't think I would even feel it.

The other reason I went with 1000/10,000 is my truck hitch is only rated to max 1000. Check your as well.
My dealer said they would set it up as well. After they finished, I had another hour redoing it. They weren't even close.

The stock hitch on my F150 is rated the same as yours. I told the tech at equilizer that I hoped I would never load to full capacity. I figured if it ever happened, then I would upgrade the hitch on the truck as long as I did not exceed the trucks limits. If an upgrade in truck was necessary, then I at least would not have to buy a new hitch as well. Cart before the horse logic...maybe. He assured me that the ride wouldn't be more harsh with the 1200/12000 then that of the 1k/10k set up even if I didn't max out. If anything, the truck felt light in the nose but I am not convinced that is what I was feeling. My wife was behind me in her car and said the trailer seemed to track straight and true, it just seemed a little low in the front. I experimented with speed from 50mph to almost 70mph. It felt best at around 63 mph. I don't mean power but stability. Power wise, my truck is happier at about 68 mph. I definitely feel that a few more local trip are in order.
