My wife and I purchased a new 26BH last summer. For us and our one daughter we love it. The bunk beds in the back are my daughter's little area and if she has a friend come along it is perfect. We did not want the potential problems associated with slides (25BHS) or having to fold and unfold bed ends (hybrids) so we opted for the 26 BH. I know there are a great deal of hybrid owners out they love their hybrids. It boils down to what meets your needs and wants.
If you have specific questions...send me an email.

Re: 26bh
Like Explorer says, it all depends on your personal wants and needs. A bunkhouse works well for lots of families.

I traded my bunkhouse for.... another bunkhouse... My kids love the bunks
Like the others stated, bunks are awesome for full time beds without having to set up bunk ends, diners to beds, or couches.
If you're thinking you might like it, you will probably love it.

Had a 19H for many years, just went to a 228 bunk model because my boys are getting older and need their space. We are much happier for it and the boys love the upgrade. Strongly consider the bunkhouse if you have kids.

We had a 2001 23 B Kiwi hybrid and loved it, tons of room and large fold down at both ends. That being said, after 4 years we were a little sick of set up time and have purchased a 2013 26bh and it is a huge upgrade for time spent doing what we love versus work, all beds are already set up. Super happy with the 26bh.

We have the 23B (HTT). We were in the same boat as you, one child and us two. The bunk ends have never been an issue. He brings friends and cousins all the time. They absolutely love sleeping in the back bunk together and playing there when the weather is poor. At bed time they love having the windows open and watch the campfire, stars, riverboats, etc through the huge windows. Last year it felt like it rained almost every trip out (can’t imagine we are in a drought with that much rain), and the bunk ends were never an issue.
One of the selling points of the 23B for us was in a pinch, traveling cross country or in bad weather we could convert the dinette and sofa to beds, and not having to open the bunk ends. So far we have never needed to. Setting up the bunks in the rain has never an issue, as nothing is ever exposed and most of the work can be done from inside.
Setup and teardown time I would guess is 15-30 minutes, from starting to back in to the site until we are complete and ready to play. I would guess the hardest longest part is leveling the HTT.
Best of luck in choosing your new TT.

Not really qualified to answer as we just picked ours up over the weekend......Just the wife and I, with two labs, and a slew of grandkids. I had my mind set on a 22FB...but once she saw the bunks it was over.....I think it was a good choice. Like the extra room....we looked at a ton of TT at the travel show by far the most bang for the $$...
Good luck with you decision

We just traded in our 26BH We were quite happy with it. We have grandkids, but they hav only stayed with us once in two years. The bunks and the storage under the bunks hold a lot of stuff. At the time we got it we had a less capable TV with tow rating of 6700 lbs, so we went with a non-slide model to keep the weight down. We have a White Hawk on order that has a large slideout, so there will be a good deal more openness in the living space. We also ordered the hid a bed and table and chairs. I didn't like sitting in the booth type dinnette. The White Hawk also has a bedroom that is closed off from the rest of the living area. Even has a walk thru bath that further isolates the bedroom from the living room. We also like the idea of having the barrell rockers (will probably replace these with Lazyboys) in the back to sit in rather than the sofa in the 26BH. Of course it is a more costly trailer by about 10k dollars. (if you look at MSRP) We think that the 26 BH was a good choice for us as a starter trailer, to determine if we liked camping. We paid only $11,500 for it used less than one year old. Don't buy a bunk house trailer just because the grandkids might stay with you. Get a floorplan that is good for you. Having said all this, the 26BH could be a great choice. Hope this helps.

We like our 26BH. We have used is on several trips, both weekend and week long trips. Got it 2 seasons ago and it was perfect when we were a family of 4, now we are a family of 5 and its a bit tight. Don't care much about the slide, coming to a TT from tents we didn't think much about living space rather sleeping space. When camping most of our days are outside, weather is not much of an issue here in CA, however when we follow though and upgrade we will certainly get a slide.

We recently signed the papers on a 2013 26BH w/thermal package. We went in during one of the dealership's RV shows ready to buy a KZRV Spree 18RBT hybrid for $13.9k, and noticed the 26BH sitting a few campers down for the same price! The dealer said they had ordered a large quantity from Jayco and had to sell all of them before the 2014s come in. They even threw in a battery and offered to keep it on the lot for free until it gets warmer. Comparing the 26BH with the KZ was like night and day. Only concern I had was whether or not my TV was up for the task, since the Jayco is about twice the weight of the KZ hybrid.. After lots of research and help from the people on this forum, it looks like I will be pushing the limits but will be within them.
