26BH or 28BHS

We looked at both models and went with the 28BHS for the larger living room and the L kitchen with all that counter space that others alluded to. Few trailers in this size range have that much counter space with maybe the exception of the rear kitchen models.

The 26rks really caught our eye... it is on their website, just go to the Jayco TT and then go down to the 26rks.. .the standard config is with the dinette and couch.. there is a $250 option which leaves the Couch, moves it closer to the kitchen and has a wardrobe between the couch and the BB... for us it really made sense.. 99% of the time though.. it will be just my wife and myself traveling.. I did mention we ordered the 2013 rather than taking a 2012 with out the options we wanted.

I just bought a 2011 26bh,I bought it used,cause it looks as though someone might have used it 3 times last summer...It was immaculate and the deal was phenominal....However if I was to have seen the 26 RKS with the bunk optin Thats what would be sitting in my driveway right now!!!!! No if ands or butts.....

We bought a 26BH last year, and have three kids. I wish we would have gone bigger, in fact we're looking. We like the 26BH, it's a great trailer with a good floor plan. It is just tight in there with 5 of us plus a small dog.

Since it appears you have plenty of truck I recommend the 32BHDS. We have not felt cramped even camping with 3 adults, 4 kids and 3 dogs.

We did look at the Eagle 314 which is similiar. I'm worried about maneuvering a 35-36' trailer into spots and even more concerned about having to figure out 2 pop outs. There are lots of places we wouldn't have any issue, but some places would be tough. Even driving the "loop" at some state parks might be tough with a trailer that long.

Any comments on experience getting that rig into different kinds of campgrounds?

Agreed on the layout of the 26BH - After our 5 week trip, the space in the 26 was cramped for our family of 2 adults and 2 teen's. I'd go as big as you can and also keep in mind where your family might be five years from now.

We upgraded from a 28BHS to a 32TSBH this year. Space wasn't awful for us but it definitely was an issue in the 28, especially in the bunk area for the kids. Problem solved. The 32TSBH has a ton of space in back for the kids, like 10x14' kind of space. The main living area is also plenty big for a group of adults and kids. We've had 4 adults and 8 kids in the living area before without going crazy. The bathroom though is only slightly bigger than a 28BHS and the front bedroom is the same. The only thing we'd really like that it doesn't have is a bigger bathroom. We're good to go for 5-10 years, which was our plan when we upgraded. In the year we had the 28BHS, we learned the bunkhouse was going to be too small to go that long.

As far as maneuvering goes, yes there are places we can't fit now, but nothing that's been a deal breaker. It was a little more intimidating at first, but I got the hang of it pretty quick. No major issues getting it around and parked.
