26BH Shoe Storage

We love our 26BH but one sore point is that there is zero room to store shoes at the door. Since this is also the highest traffic area it creates some interesting acrobatics, especially at night.

Has anyone come up with a way to keep shoes organized at the entry door of the 26BH? I'd love to see your pictures.

If you can live without the leg pad thing that covers the front of the sofa, take it off and slide your shoes under it. At night I usually put my shoes under the end of the main bed and stick the kid's shoes under the dinette.

My wife found this the other day. I wonder if hanging one strip just inside the door, off the back of the dinette, would look okay. We have the same trailer, and are trying to brainstorm shoe storage ourselves.

If you can weld (or know someone who can), check out BigJohnD's mods for the shoe rack that he built and attached to the bottom of the step frame. I still need to do the same.

My plan will be to make it stick out past the frame to put another pair of shoes on the "outside" of the step frame on each side.

Or the door shoe organizer along the bed base as posted.

I guess it depends on how high tech and how organized you want to get. A simple solution is a rubbermaid tote or a laundry basket that can be set outside by the stairs. It doesn't fit the more OCD types but at least gives a place to throw everything for kids that tend to drop and run.

We camped with friends last week that had exactly what Kal El suggested. Their organizer was hung off the back of the dinette beside the door and made from a sturdy canvass type material. It went from the floor up to the top of the dinette back and had room for 3 rows of pockets.

Thanks for the ideas folks. I' think I'll try the Kal El's shoe organizer first.
