26bh tv question
Just bought 2013 Jayco 26BH.
Does anyone know the max tv size for both living room and bedroom areas?
Thank you

We put a 26 in tv in the living area and a 19 in in the bedroom. They are mounted on arm so they can be moved closer for viewing. They fit great in our 26BH.

I suppose if you used a back board over the thin RV walls to spread out the weight you can mount a HDTV as big as you want. We currently have a 26-inch size in the living room area and a 22-inch size in the bedroom area. We use the VIZIO HDTVs inboth room so that when I can't find the TV thumper I hopefully have a working spare in the bedroom haha.. Personally I would think a 32-inch size HDTV would be as big as I would want to watch in the living room area.
these are sample mounting back boards from google

Interesting concept of using a backboard. How big are the studs in the walls?

Does anyone know how big the wood is behind the walls?

I believe it's just a chunk of plywood under the "TV mount" sticker but I'm not sure the exact size. Jayco will probably e-mail you the wall drawing if you contact them requarding this. I put a 23" TV in the living room (using the same mount pictured above left) direcly over that sticker and haven't had any issues. Make sure you use shorter screws...the ones included in the wall mount are usually too long.

Be careful with the mount placement. I have a 264BH and the sticker was over 1 1/4" too high and I missed the backer board twice and started to make swiss cheese of the wall. I ended up using a backer like the pictures shown above.

We contacted Jayco on their FaceBook page and got an answer. The sticker is suppose to be in the center of a 21" by 22" piece of half inch plywood inside the wall. (if I remember right) The new member above that mentioned the sticker applied in the wrong place indicates a trend I'm finding with Jayco.

We also found the sticker was off a bit in our 26bh. Someone on here gave the advice of pushing on the wall panel. You will know when you find the plywood inside the wall because the panel won't have as much give when you push. It worked for us! Good luck.

What does everyone do with their TV's when you're not using the trailer? Do you leave them mounted in the camper or remove them for protection form the extreme temperature changes?
Thanks,

I called Jayco last June trying to find the wall stud. I was sent a diagram and it's just a 1/2" piece of plywood like I quoted above. I have a 2016 Jay Feather.

I got the dealer to give me the box the TV came in. So, I take it out of the trailer and put it back in the box for storage over the winter.

You can knock with your knuckles and find it to. When you tap it, it will sound solid.
