26Rls tongue weight

After first few trips with new tt I figured there was a problem with weight on trailer. After checking tongue weight I was shocked to see 1043lbs. This weight was measured with empty fresh/grey/black and factory LP and battery. Front storage was empty. In order to balance this trailer I definitely need weight in rear, only thing is no storage in rear. What are thoughts on bumper storage to help adjust weight?

that seems about right as was posted in the other form; gross weight 8,500lbs * 0.12 = 1,020 lbs seems about right. Now the only thing you need to see is what happens when you load fully as you will travel on a trip and reweigh. TT tongue weight should be 10-15% of Gros and you fit there as weighed now.

I was a little surprised when I weighed the tongue of our new 27RLS. With propane, battery and our gear we at about 7500 lbs and the tongue weight is 1050-1100 lbs. So we are at about 14-14.7% on the tongue. When you look at where the weight is going it is not so surprising. The brochure for the 27RLS had empty weight of 6030 and tongue weight of 695 (11.5%). Add 150 lbs or so for the battery and two full propane tanks, which sits almost all on the tongue and you have 6160 with a tongue of ~845 (13.7%). Thats with no options or gear added. Our yellow sticker weight was 6930, so the options alone added 900 lbs, some of which will also add to the tongue weight. Adds up fast and is why I switched from a 1/2 ton to a 3/4 ton truck. Your 26RLS has similar weights, a little lighter empty weight but a little heavier tongue weight before you add propane, battery and options.

From everything I've read these bumpers are not designed to support much weight.
