287bhsw water heater. Help!

First time owner and can't figure out how to light the water heater in my 2016 Jayco 287bhsw. Please help.

Should be electric/auto ignition. Find your control panel, flip the switch that says "water heater LP"

In addition, make sure you have battery and propane is on.

You might purge the lines also by lighting one burner on the stove. Let it run a couple seconds and turn off. Now try the water heater switch. You should hear some clicking in water heater location.

If the propane has been off, the lines would need to fill with gas too. I will usually run the cook top to get the lines full. The water heater is in the rear of the camper, so it could take longer for the gas to get to the water heater.

Good advice on the 'gas' side of the water heater.

And be sure the water heater is full of water (turn on both hot and cold until you get a solid stream with no air).

If you stand outside near the water heater, you'll hear the 'roar' when the heater is on. It will take a while (never timed it, maybe 10-15 minutes?) for the water to heat water in the tank and then take a while for hot water to flow out of the tap.

If you hear the 'roar' of the water heater heating, try the cold water side, too. A member on this forum said his water lines were switched; hot out of the 'cold' side.

+1 on purging the propane lines. It's usually one of the first things I do when I get my trailer out of storage. I run the stove for a couple minutes, then the water heater and fridge will light up the first try (occasionally it takes a second try) and all is well.
