My Jayco Slx19rv has 30 amp service. Can I safely plug it i to a 50 am outlet with an adapter?

Yes you can. A surge protector is also highly recommended.

Short answer is Yes.

I'm sure you'll get a more detailed explanation from the 120v gurus on the site.

Some times it's better to use a 50 amp to 30 amp pig tail. Normally, the 30 amp outlet gets a lot more use, and may be looser, causing arcs, whereas the 50 amp outlet is usually much less used, and is a tighter plug.
