4008 RV By-Pass Pump by Shurflo

My new 2013 26BH came with the 4008 RV By-Pass Pump by Shurflo. It says no accumulator tank is needed with the by pass pump due to its design it doesn't constantly cycle on and off. Is anyone out there using this type pump and what is/has been your experience with it?

Thanks

It works on demand, once the water lines are pressurized it doesn't come on until you turn on the water at one of your faucets. Works very well for us....

Is it a variable demand pump? That would be really nice! Nothing worse than a couple on off cycles at 2 am from a flush....

After spending 5 weeks in my Superlite with an on demand water pump the 2 gal. accumulator I kept from my previous unit will be installed. Although on demand pumps are great they have a downside at night. With the water pressure trigger points of the on demand pump I will probably have to turn the pump off at night, to stop it from running, but I will have enough water for a number of flushes.

cheers

This is what Shurflo has on their web site regarding the pump, "SHURflo’s New Revolution™ fresh water pump design was created with a unique one-piece diaphragm and internal by-pass, assuring long life and top performance in all plumbing systems. Designed as the next legendary pump to exceed the expectations of our customers, the Revolution™ Pump is built for high flow demand, low noise and no rapid cycling. SHURflo’s quality reputation has been built on the reliability and dependability of every pump we build. The 4008 Revolution™ fresh water automatic demand pump is super quiet, thermally protected and can run dry without damage. Mounts in any position."

I will get an opportunity next weekend to see how this pump functions.

Sounds like a good concept. Please do keep us informed how it works.
