50A Furrion Power Cable LEDs
So, last weekend we were out at a really nice CG on the coast that we've stayed at several times. I went to plug in my trailer using my standard 50A Furrion power cable (came with my trailer more than 3 years ago, and is still in excellent shape). This cable has 2 LEDs in the head that are usually both lit up when I plug in (one for each leg). This time, one was not lit. So, I thought no problem, I'll just use the 30A plug and my dogbone adapter. But then I thought "what if there's something wrong with the power?" So I grabbed my multi-meter and proceeded to test the 50A plug. I was not consistently able to pick up voltage from the "left" side. So, I called the park and had them send someone out to take a look.
He was able to get proper voltage from both the 50A and the 30A with his meter, but he went ahead and replaced the 50A breaker anyway. Afterwards, he tested again and had good power according to his meter (I saw it with my own eyes). So we plugged me back in and I still had that one LED out. I checked everything inside the trailer, and all was well. No power problems throughout the whole weekend.
At home, I plugged into my 50A box (professionally installed, and has always worked perfectly) and still only one light on the plug head.
So, best I can tell, the LED on the plug head has "died". Has this happened to anyone else? Does anyone use one of these cords or know what I'm talking about?
A quick Google search reveals it to be a somewhat common problem it seems. Looks like it's time for me to install that EMS I've been putting off getting...

I have the same cord and have not had any problems with the LEDs. However, I've heard/read that they frequently fail.

One of my mine does the same thing. Comes in and out. No other symptoms that I can tell. Will also do it with the 30 amp plug.

Hadn't had this problem, BUT, this is the first cord I've had with LED lights. I've always gone by my meter or EMS readings. I don't pay much mind to the cord's LED lights.

On a automobile they refer to them as "idiot" lights for some reason? LOL
I have a home extension cord with the same problem. I would not put much stock in the LED indicator lights, they fail and a quick test with a vom will indicate that.
Now the small plug in indicator lights for some reason have a better reputation. I have 3 of them in use and have never had one fail.

After about two years at least one of my LED's failed. I say "at least" because I didn't pay attention to them most of the time. After connecting and flipping the post breaker on I watch the remote display on my EMS until I see it cycle through its info messages. If all is normal I flip on the house main breakers. I had to replace the shore power cord and bought another Furrion and notice both LED's are working, for now.

Thanks all!
That's about what I figured. Nothing to worry about, and I guess I better make sure I can get that EMS installed. Perhaps I can get it done before our first trip in the Spring?

I'd not be without one. Had one on both TT's. A pole mount 30A on the HTT and a hard-wired 50A on the 5th. Love the hard-wire, the remote display is in a perfect location for viewing from the ground as I enter.
