Added a Jayco to our family
We just picked up our new 2017 Jayco Whitehawk 28DSBH the other day... We are excited for the adventures ahead. I am enjoying the mods/upgrades you all are posting thus far.

Congratulations on your new White Hawk! I really like the floor plan.
After seeing your pictures, it makes me wonder about your payload capacity? If loaded to capacity, your 28DSBH will have a tongue weight of up to 1125 at 15%.

Congratulations!! We love the White Hawk line it has been a good trailer so far (25BHS) model. Enjoy!
I would consider removing your topper. You have a little bit of a sag and the topper plus the rack on top can add quite a bit of extra weight. I'm towing with a F-150 myself and I need to fine tune the payload myself cause of my family size with dog  are pushing the payload limits. The pulling power is never a problem just the payload on my rear axle. I was a little over a 100lbs on my rear axle gross weight and I didn't even know until I went to the CAT scale. So I made a few adgustments and now I'm under by 350lbs. I abused my truck cargo and all that front pass thru cargo space. Bulky and light is the only thing I put in the front cargo.
Happy trails and have a wonderful summer making memories on beautiful shimmering lakes while ending the night gazing at the stars next to the campfire.

Nice trailer! Great minds think alike. X2 on the truck topper removal. Ultimately you'll discover what your comfortable with and ways to dial in your load as you go. Happy Camping!!
The one thing your '17 has that I wish my '15 had are the side windows on the slide. More view of the outdoors is a good thing

Thank you for the comments. I will definitely check out my tongue weight. I have installed two Equal-I-zer WD hitches on two separate trucks. I let the dealer install this one but when I asked the installer on some of the steps it took, I got a blank look. He never measured the effects on the distribution of weight by measuring the hieght of the truck fender wells pre/post trailer connection. Hence the greater drop in the rear. It was also not completed on a level ground so I am not sure if the trailer was even level to begin with. The installation also requires the measurement of the front and back of the trailer in the ground pre/post hitching. The bars went on fairly easy which means they are not transferring the weight completely. I also have a leveling kit (installed by previous owner) which removes the natural rake from the factory. On my previous truck, I had also added the add-a-leaf in the rear to make up for the leveling kit. I am going to go back and perform the correct installation my self. Even with this, I know I need to be mindful of my weights.

Well you have a great trailer and welcome to the Jayco family. They have some great MODS on this forum and if you discover cool MODS yourself please post them. I have been spending the winter tweaking the trailer and it has been fun. Best value MOD is the digital thermostat and upgrading the bath fan.
Just a note - I also I have a front puck so I put the RAS suspension kit which brought the rear back up 1.5" to bring it level when pulling.
