Adjusting atwood water heater

As title says, was wondering how to turn down hot water temp. Have jayflight 28 bhs and it seems temp is way too hot.

As delivered Atwood water heaters are fixed temperature. Yes, quite hot. However, there is a thermostat available you can install. It is not difficult at all.

We don't see any reason to adjust the temp in ours. Just mix a little cold with it.

Not all Atwood water heaters are fixed temperature. Some are adjustable.

I heard that Atwood has the factory temp set higher to ensure hot water for a longer period. The only concern I have is that one of my grandchildren could scald themselves if they forgot to mix the hot with cold. I installed an adjustable thermostat for my peace of mind.
