Air Conditioning Sound

What is my air conditioner supposed to sound like? Mine sounds like it is in serious need of some lube. A rumble I can handle, but mine squeaks something awful.

Have you tried removing the trim/shroud? Could the squeaks be from vibration and rubbing plastic pieces?

I would take the shroud off and listen to it run from up top and see if you can identify where the noise is actually coming from. It could be a dirt dauber nest on the squirrel cage blower making it spin out of balance.

If a new rig in warranty,I would let a dealer look at it.

It should not be squeaking.
