Air in water lines???

Hello,

Enjoying our first excursion with the new trailer.

Unfortunatley having trouble getting air out of the water lines.

Running on our fresh water tank which is still reading 1/3 fill.

It seems air is being introduced somewhere but I can't figure out where.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks for the help.

My TT has a siphon line (a simple flex-tube with O/C Valve) for introducing anti-freeze or water system sanitizing fluids....perhaps yours isn't closed properly? If you have a siphon line it's probably near your water pump.

Thanks for the idea, but that seems to be closed properly.

I'm starting to wonder if I have less water in the tank than the gauge suggests.

I opened the low point drain and water came out as expected, so there is water.

Just a few more thoughts....The sound of my pump changes significantly when the freshwater goes empty. Also...the low point drain isn't necessarily your freshwater holding tank drain. My TT has (3) "low point" drains...One for the freshwater tank, one for the cold water line and one for the hot water line. Drawing air would (obviously) have to originate on the vacuum side of the pump - hopefully that narrows your search

At the beginning of last season my water system was sucking air also, found that the siphon line was closed but the hose clamp that connects it to the system was loose and was allowing air into the system. Tightened it up and it worked like a champ.

It really sounds as if air is getting sucked into the suction side somewhere. One place to look is the screen filter - probably attached to the pump on the suction side. Look for a loose filter bowl, or a missing bowl gasket. Also as previously suggested look to see if the winterizing hose valve is slightly open.
