Another gray tank question

We just upgraded to a 2015 32TSBH with two gray tanks. I thought one tank serviced the kitchen and the bath, but after one day of use (without using the shower/tub), the grey began overflow into the tub. When I draining the tanks, only one contained water. Anyone know how the two tanks work on this model? Thanks.

My 30.5 has twin tanks as well. One for the kitchen, one for the bath ( tub and sink). Never had any cross flow issue. I was told they were separate

Thanks for the response. We just got home from our first trip with the new camper. Only one gray tank collected water all weekend. Wondering if something is plumbed incorrectly or what. I am skimming through the owners manual now, but I dont see anything related to gray tanks yet. Other than that, we love the camper, and I dont miss our problematic Keystone a bit.

ours has 2 grey tanks but one is only for our washer dryer hookup ... the other is for all the kitchen and bath grey water ... is yours set up for washer hookup.... you can leave the cap on and equalize the 2 tanks by pulling both valves if that helps

I dont think it has a washer/dryer hookup. The salesperson told me that one tank was for the kitchen and the other was for the bathroom. My unit has only a single waste drain, so I dont have the option of the keeping it capped. Thanks for the response.

Do you have three separate valves to empty tanks? 1 black, 2 grey?

Yes. It has 3 separate valves, but one sewer connection. After I noticed the water in the tub, I opened the other gray valve, but no water discharged. Only until I opened the second gray valve did the water in the tub drain.

if you didn't use either the tub or bathroom sink, then there is no reason for water to fill that tank unless it is plumbed incorrectly

We eventually used the tub and bath sink but no water accumulated in the second tank. The tub overflowed prior to us using the bathroom (we rewashed all of pots, pans, and dishes. they were sitting in the garage for a few weeks while the new unit was being prepped). That's why I think it is plumbed incorrectly.

Well a good series of tests can confirm your assumption. Don't assume that the tank level lights work or are accurate, but open one grey valve at a time and start running water to see where it is flowing.

Did the dealer empty the tank after the PDI? It may have been partially full when you picked it up.

Tank was emptied during the final walkthrough. I'm puzzled. No matter what faucet/drain that I turn on, I cant seem to get the secondary tank to collect any water.

So when you turn on each water source, you have that water draining from the same tank? This is a different statement from " can't get tank to collect water" versus, can't get water to drain when I open one of the two valves.

I'm just considering that you ARE collecting water in the second tank, it's just not draining when you pull the second grey knife valve.

Do you have the outdoor kitchen model? Sometimes that second gray tank is for outdoor kitchen water only.

We have the outdoor kitchen model. I ran that faucet just a few times during our trip. Perhaps there wasn't enough water in the tank to hear it drain. I will run the outdoor kitchen faucet longer tonight and check the tank. Thanks for the suggestion.

My brother in law has a '14 32TSBH with the outdoor kitchen and I recall that's how his was plumbed when I had a look underneath it last year.

Thank you. If that is the case, it doesn't make much sense. Isolating the kitchen and bath is better use of the tanks since they are the most used.

It seems like it's just due to the floorplan of the trailer. The kitchen and bath are fairly central on that trailer so they tie those together, while the outdoor kitchen is at the rear. Less lines to run underneath I suppose.
