When the dealer fixed my leak. The tech removed the screws in the frame area of the underbelly. He then pulled the belly away from the frame to expose the sprayer, nothing was cut. They left the area open until I inspected the repair.

Ernie,

Your right, on some floorplans cutting may not be required......, all depends on the tank location and surrounding restrictions (axles, piping, etc.).

In some cases I've seen where Jayco incorporated little underbelly cut-out sections for accessing things like slide motors.., which made it easy to find in the event a slide failed and it had to be manually cranked in.

Maybe I will take a better look of my tt underbelly,I would rather not drive 3hrs each way back to dealer if I dont have to I already fixed two of the other issues myself(they sent me new electric stabilizer motor that I re-installed and I fixed loose city water connection myself).Maybe I should be on their payroll

Well I just fixed the black water flush system leak.I took apart a loose 1/2 plastic nipple that screws into side of tank.Im glad I was able to fix, it saved me a 6hr round trip +gas road trip to dealer.Thats the good news, but the bad news is that for those of you wondering why there is always still water in the black tank, is that the discharge port where the dump valve is loacated is backpitched from the factory,it looks like there is pitch from the underside until you remove the underbelly and see where it is connected to holding tank.I guess there will always be a need for chemicals.

Glad yo got your leak fixed.
The dealer called today & the tech couldn't find the slide leak. The tech's answer to our problem is that we need slide out covers. They will install them for $1871.66, that price includes our discount.
Also one of the slide motors needs to be replaced.

Were you having problems with slide motors or did that one just come up now? When will it end ? I guess I`m going to have to look in a extended warranty after the 2 years.I wonder what they get for that.

It's the bedroom slide motor. It has made a loud clunking noise since the day I bought the trailer.

If I had been told that, it would have gotten ugly. The leak needs to be fixed, not covered up, especially not on your dime! You need to call Jayco!

Jeannie,
I feel the same way that you do. I will calling Jayco in the morning. (they were already closed when I got the info from the dealer in Menifee Ca.)
I kept my cool.
(The total price of the slide out covers is $2256 including shipping)

Covers is not an acceptable answer to your leak. You need a real dealer and tech crew. If they can't fix it they need to take it back to the factory on their dime and install a new slide.

My response would have been; "Well then, it looks like you guys will be doing a "pressurized leak test" with the slides in, and with them out."

First of allI agree with the others, cannot find the leak is not a good answer. Second Ernie, I had slide toppers put on my 33rlds and it only cost us $1500.00. Also if you didn't know the slide topper that will be going on the door side slide will not cover the slide like it should, reason being the awning passes about 2 inches away from the slide. My door side slide topper does not cover the whole slide but does cover most of it. The slide topper should extend over both ends of the slide about 4-6 inches and mine goes to the actual end of the slide by the door. I also could see daylight on my slide at the top of the door slide when the slide was closed. By the way my slide topper are carefree. I hope you get this resolved.

Fixing the leak by adding slide toppers would be like fixing a water leak in a vehicle by adding a can of Stop Leak to the coolant. When you have a leak, you find it, even though at times this can prove difficult. I agree you should continue to pursue this until resolved to your satisfaction.

on my long slides the toppers have water that run off the end of it and then follows the bottom back about 6-8 inches then drops onto the slide roof. Adding toppers will not keep water off of slide roof at all. And the toppers were a $950.oo dollar option. having them installed by dealer would be higher a lot higher so maybe the 18oo price tag isn't that bad

I spoke with Jayco Customer Service & they have authorized me to take my trailer to a non Jayco Rv repair shop to have the leak and other repairs done correctly.
I also spoke with the owner of the shop where I will be taking my trailer in for repairs. They will do a pressure test to find the leak . They pressurise the inside of the trailer and soap around the outslide of the slides and look for air bubbles.

Ernie,

Hopefully the new RV service facility will bring some closure to your warranty issues.

Advise the new RV service center that you have a following of curious "on-line" RV owners, and that we are always looking for professional/tech savvy places to take our RV's

Bob

I hope so, we would like to enjoy our trailer and not have to worry.
A friend had his motor home fixed at this facility & was very happy with the work.
