Another quality control issue

It's raining, the trailer is sitting in the back yard with the slides closed & they are leaking water inside the trailer. It ranied every day for 5 days two weeks ago when we were camping, the slides were out and not one leak inside.

Are all the slides leaking? I do not like the sound of this. I have the same trailer!! Hopefully just a minor adjustment in on the slides will take care of it. Let us know.

Not good news. It seems that just about everything that happens to someone else happens to our trailer too. I am beginning to think that this trailer was a major mistake. Still love the floorplan.

We just spent 3 months in ours. We have only had it for 5 months. I have a list of over 30 things to be repaired. From the microwave, toilet, stove, recliner, 3 windows that won't open, rain gutters that sag in the middle of the trailer, slides leaking and the list goes on. We also love the floor plan. I would think twice before I bought anouther Jayco product.

Can I hear an AMEN???

My son bought a Caliber travel trailer made by Heartland. I think he has more problems than we do. So much for Amish quality. Jayco needs to slow down the production line and take away their power tools. I don't think they do well with electricity.

No amen from me. Quality has not been an issue so far. Love everything about it.

Only thing giving me the jitters is the extra ft of height.

I just opened the slides & the carpet is soaking wet from the dining room slide leaking. It makes me sick to my stomach that we spent so much money to have so many problems.

Man I hate that for you Ernie. Have you talked to Jayco again about the situation? What has been their response?

I know the feeling of spending so much money and not being happy. Also know the feeling of having so many problems. I have had my Jayco just over a year have had nothing but problems and a fight with Jayco service to remedy these issues. Love the lay out. but the quality, service, and all around product not good. One would think a company like this would want to "step up" and take care of the issues rather than hoping they will go away. Just my opinion

McMark, I too have had more problems than I care to think about. Jayco has been very good about fixing all the issues so far. In the back of my mind I can't help but wonder about after the warranty expires. I am thinking an extended warranty will be necessary. Thankfully I still have 15 months to see how things will go.

Ernie, sorry to hear you've had so many problems with your trailer. Weird how some people have very few problems while other have more than their share so to speak. I read the post about the guy who had several cracks in the fiberglass. One would think a company like Jayco would do everything in their power to make things right for people who experience such problems. Water damage being another. I'm glad we have this web site to compare notes.
With so many RV companies shutting down I suspect Jayco has done some belt tightening to keep up with the competition. The QC is one area that should be maintained at any cost. If you can't consistently put out a quality product than you've lost sight of what your in the business for.
I hope things improve for you. My trailer has been in for warranty work and I am surprised at how much I miss not being able to tinker in it. Fortunately most of the problems I've had with it were cosmetic in nature.

I talked to Jayco's cutomer service today. The trailer goes to the dealer tomorrow for repairs. I will keep you posted. Thanks for all the feedback.

Ernie, I am sure they will take care of it for you. Jayco has fixed all our problems with no hassle so far. You just have to have the right dealer with an experienced staff.

I hope the dealer will fix everything right & not have the same problem I had last time I took it in for warranty work. Spoke with Jayco's customer service today & they said everything will be fine.

Good question. Same materials, same workers, still pushing them out the door in about 6 or 7 hours. I really don't have a clue but I would hope things are better.

We have had plenty of issues but all have been taken care of by Jayco. A good dealer with an experienced staff is the real key.

Hopefully Jayco will improve their quality control and go back to quality instead of quantity.

X2

Jayco should invite a couple of Jayco customers to their quality control and production meetings every quarter for a reality check...., and/or post some of these forum "quality" threads in the company's executive conference room.
