Another Whitehawk 27DSRL future owner

Been envious of other members here with their 27DSRL and I've finally pulled the trigger and ordered mine today. I decided to go with a dealer that was an hour away (Manteca Trailer) rather than one that was about 20 minutes because Manteca people seemed much better to deal with.

Anyways mine should arrive anywhere from 6 to 8 weeks according to the dealer. I will find out for sure on Tuesday. I just hired a concrete contractor to pave the side of my house so I can park my Whitehawk there. I'm fortunate to have enough room to keep it on my property behind the fence. I'll post up pictures once I take delivery.

Congratulations on your new Whitehawk.

I understand why you and lots of others like those trailers. Our 2015 Jay Flight 27RLS is very similar and we love ours.

Congrats on the new camper. Had ours for a couple years now and been happy with it. Great layout, especially for 2 people and just the right size for most park campsite length restrictions.

Oh I wasn't aware of the length restrictions. Good to know, thank you!

Congrats! We love ours. Roomy, but not too large to haul or park.

Congratulations on your new White Hawk. We've had ours for 2 years, put 4K miles on it last summer and enjoyed every minute.

Thanks everyone! Now while I'm waiting for it to arrive, I need to start getting my tow vehicle ready. I've heard good things about the Equilizer WDH, so I'll most likely get that. Also the Prodigy P3 brake controller. Do those two sound alright for my application? I have an 08 Toyota Tundra.

Oh also just realized I need to get the hitch ball too. Where do you guys normally go for that? I'll need the 2 5/16 right?

Yes 2 5/16" ball.

If you aren't buying the ball from Equal-i-zer (Progress Manufacturing) double check the length of the threaded portion of the ball needed for the Equal-i-zer hitch. My Equal-i-zer 4-point needed a shorter threaded portion than many of the balls I found, but my hitch is over 10 years old so that may have changed.

I bought mine online, but I don't recall the site.

Thanks for the information. I guess I'll purchase the ball from Equal-i-zer as well to insure it all goes together.

If it's feasible, you should have your pad area plumbed to tie into your residential sewer line before you concrete. This way you have your own dump station

Yup, I already have two clean outs that I can easily tap into for the dump station. So I'm pretty good to go in that area.

When ordering your equalizer, keep in mind the tongue weight listed from Jayco will be without a battery or all of your stuff. Also include the weight of the hitch and any weight you will have in your truck bed behind the rear axel. In my case, the published tongue weight of my Jayflight 26RKS was 870, my scaled tongue weight with most of my stuff on board was around 1,100. Adding another 100 for the hitch, I purchased a 1,400 equalizer. A little oversized, but I figure I will be adding more crap each trip, so would rather have the hitch oversized than undersized.

Etrailer.com has some good prices on them and knowledgable folks if you want to talk it through with them.

OP, congrats on your new trailer! And lucky you that you have place to store the trailer... just trying to find a good place to my 28DSBH that I am picking up in Aug, but this is difficult task in our area.

Thank you so much for the valuable information. Being an RV and camping newbie, this definitely helps me big time. I often race my motorcycle at the track, so that will be in the back of my truck bed. I'll definitely take your advice and contact Etrailer to see which one fits my application best.
