Awning stitching question.....

While cleaning the Carefree awning on our trailer I noticed that the stitching along the top edge was gone for about a 2 foot stretch near the center of the awning. Does it pay to attempt to re-stitch this or will awning repair tape over the stitching be sufficient?
Opinions please.
Thanks,
RB

I've seen that too. It's just stitching on the edge. It's not joining any pieces together. I just pulled up the loose stuff and put a couple drops of super glue on it to hold it in place. I have had other stitching issues with outdoor camping gear that have been supurbly handled with a darning needle and some 6# Fireline( kevlar fishing line). It's rotproof and strong like you won't believe. If you use this stuff, either melt the end or a drop of super glue when you close the stitch

How do you clean your awning? I am not sure what to use to clean it. Just soap and water???

I use a mild soap/water (no bleach) with a long handled soft bristle brush. When the awning is extra dirty (mildew, etc.) I will apply some Simple Green, close the awning, then re-open the awning about 10 minutes later and wash with mild soap.
