Talking

(snip)" it's good to realize that and be able to laugh when your passenger's foot slams on the invisible brake. [/QUOTE]

Heck, the DW does that when I'm driving FORWARD.......without the TT. Maybe they're all drivers ed teachers from an earlier life?

backing up

Thanks everyone for all your advise on backing up. I parked my TT to day in the space I made for it ( 12" on each side). It was never racking for a while but I finally got the hang of it and backed it in there. I now have a 23 ft. Jayco Feather 23BMH exactly in the spot I wanted. The worrying about having to do it was worse than the doing it.

Happy camping everyone and thanks to everyone who responded to my tread.

My spotter is always at least 60ft away. We tried walkies, but the "transmission delay, between pressing button and the ready beep, " is too long and not helpful. DW uses hand signals (BIG ONES) and points the direction where she wants the back of the trailer to go. We always walk the site before inserting the TT so we both know where we want it. If she steps out of the mirrors for more than a second or so, I stop until she is back in site. No yelling/screaming involved. Once in position we check the installed levels and set the "legos" beside the tires. I pull ahead just enough to slide in the Legos and then back onto them. Back Lego stack has chock attached so I can't back off the stack. Then it's just detach and stabilize. Usually under 5 min to get to the first adult bevy.
Happy Camping

I've been backing various trailers and large commercial vehicles for nearly 40 years. The best I can offer is don't ever panic, slow and steady wins this race - GET OUT as often as necessary to see what you need to do. Don't over steer...
