Bad radio reception

We went camping this weekend and I got tons of radio stations in my truck, but maybe 2 in the camper any ideas?

Most likely is the antenna is broken, the antenna is no longer plugged into the radio or if you have a local distance switch on the radio some one inadvertently set it to local. I take it the radio has worked for the last 5 years. On my 5th wheel I accidentally pulled the ant cable out installing the TV cables.

Make sure the antenna amp is turned on, if it shares the main tv antenna. You have to turn off the amp to watch campground cable tv but on to watch tv antenna and radio antenna. Some radio antennas are seperate, but that could be a cause.

My Jayco has always had poor radio reception, with only the closest of stations coming through clearly.

I have a separate antenna, will it make a difference to stand it up? I do not want to get on the roof if I don't have to. I will check the cable, as I pulled it out to set up outdoor speakers

I've always gotten bad radio reception. I just tried unplugging the antenna connector from the back of the stereo, and reception improved! Maybe my rooftop antenna is broken, or disconnected from the antenna wire.

My radio reception was poor. I removed the TV antenna jack and was able to find where the cable from the radio met the cable from the radio roof antenna. The connectors from the two ends were not compatible! I was able to pull enough slack from the roof antenna to connect to the radio. The reception is much improved, but not great.

Thanks CastIron. I took the TV jack plate off the wall earlier today to see if the radio antenna went up the wall there, and it does. I didn't think about there being another connector. I just assumed that the antenna wire from plug to antenna was one piece. I'll look again.

Yes stand it up after checking the connections. It will improve reception even if you find a poor connection.
