Bathroom Improvements and more

In an effort to reduce some of the little annoying things (and make the DW happy), we did a few improvements this week.

ID:	31890 This was DW's idea but I had to make it my own. After several shades of brown, it was close enough. Started out as Cherry, now it is expresso.

I also finally got the steps carpeted with the predone pads, added the sewer hose carrier, and got the spare tire mounted under the unit and off the bumper.

Got a link to where you got the backsplash tile stuff? Guessing it's the adhesive backed type. I've done this on a few rigs, but can no longer find the really good thick stainless stuff I got at lowes several years ago. I can't even remember the name now.

Did you build your own sewer hose carrier or order it from someplace?

I did the same thing with the bathroom and backsplash. Ordered the backsplash from jayco through our dealer. Also ran some next to the stove, between the fridge and burners.

Amazon.com Search "BAL 28217" or "Hide a Spare". Mine was $85.18 and free shipping. Note, you need to supply the nuts and bolts to mount it to the frame. That and some touch up paint and you are good to go.

There are 2 different models. The I beam recessed is for those without an enclosed underbelly. Meaning the tire is stored "up and in between" the frame I beams. The underslung one mounts so the tire is below the underbelly wrapping.

On these, I had to order through the my Jayco parts guy. They are sold in 12x12 sheets and are adhesive backed. Note: the adhesive backing is really flexible so you need to make sure you line these up good before pressing them to the wall.

They are really thin finished aluminum tiles with a fiber core, I cut them with my regular chop saw and used a multitool around the outlet. Just go slow.

Hey Cirrob, would it be possible to snap a photo of the stove area? I would like to see what it looks like on a bigger scale. My wife suggested doing that too, but I don't want it to look too busy. Thanks!

This was the Valterra sewer hose carrier (larger 64" one). Then, just to have some fun.... I got some steel plates and made some brackets since the carrier would not mount directly to the I beams and if it did would be too far under the unit to be convenient. I think on the door side I had about a 14 inch bracket and on the slide side it was like 9 inches. All in all I got it lined up so the twist access cap is accessible. However..... I did find that where I mounted it the carrier it hit the grey water pipe, so I had to get some nylon spacers from the hardware store to drop it 1/2 inch. Now I am in good shape.

My wife wanted some more counter space in the bathroom. We tried a small table, but that was a pain. My answer was to make a shelf that will fold down when not in use.

The wood is a 1x6 inch poplar board from Lowe's, 2 brackets from Amazon, and some scrap plywood to put on the inside of the cabinet to support the brackets.
