Battery charging issues w tow vehicle

Has anybody dealt with fuse issues on tow vehicle with the battery charging circuit? Our fuse keeps blowing on the circuit that is suppossed to charge the trailer battery. I cannot find any obvious shorts, and the 12v system works fine when plugged into shore power. I am wondering if a bad battery could do this?

One other item, I keep the battery disconnected when in storage. I also keep a small solar panel on it. This morning it indicated a full charge on the control panel, 30 minutes of driving and the battery was dead and fuse blown.

I am having the exact same issue... I thought I had a bad battery and replaced it. This new one is now almost dead...
