Best tire for towing these big travel trailers

I was looking to start a poll on what tire , or tire brand people are using or recommend as a good tire for the tow vehicle. So what tire would you recommend. Tell us the brand and tire type, AT, etc. Mileage you have gotten or have.

I'm a big fan of toyo's I have always got good mileage out of them, and I only use 10 ply on my pickups.

My observations are that people hate the Tow Max and quickly trade them out for Goodyear or Maxxis

I have also seen occasional good comments on some lesson known brands too.

My Tow Max tires are 1 years old with about 1500 miles on them. I'm recently a little spooked and I am considering changing as well

I think he is asking for opinions on tow vehicle tires?

My truck came with E rated Continentals. They were shot by 30k. I put all new Michelin LTX-MS2. They wore unevenly and were prone to cracking on the sidewalls. I replaced 3 of them and had the same results with all. I am still running 2 of them and am running Firestone Transforce HT's on the back. So far, 10K and they are still looking new. I am getting ready to replace the other 2 Michelin's with Firestone Transforce in a few weeks.

IMHO the best tires for these big trailers are 16" LT tires. ST tires are all foreign made and I think that they are Junk! Jayco is offering a 16" option on the 16 Eagle TT, the only issue that I have is that they are still using the Taiwan Maxxis tires. LT tires have a much higher speed rating and much longer tire life. Airstream is putting 16" Michelin LTX MS2 tires on their new Classic - standard. The same tires that are on my new F-350. It won't be long before everyone starts putting 16" LT tires on all these larger trailers. I am probably going to order a new 16 Eagle 330RSTS TT when they become available in late summer - new floorplan for 16. The first thing that I am going to do is buy a new set of 14 ply Goodyear G614 commercial trailer tires and high - spec wheels that are rated for 110 PSI. The last thing that I want to have to worry about when I am running 75 in 110 degree heat is blowing a tire! Or is that 110 in 75 degree heat? Either way I'm good!

On a bigger fifth wheel upgrade to the 17.5" wheels and run the Goodyear G114. Then no worries other than spilling mothers lemonade.

My bad! I thought by the title we were talking about trailer tires. I have Michelin LTX MS2 tires in 10 ply on my new F-350. So far I love them! I have always been a fan of Michelin's. I have also had good luck with Bridgestone's and Goodyear's.

I always like to oversize my tires and have plenty of reserve left. My tires are still my factory BFGoodrich All Terrain TA K/O, load range E. WAY more tire than I need. I think they are rated for over 10K lbs combined and I have a 7200 GVWR truck. I like the extra reserve, especially for a minimal upgrade price.

I currently have 49K miles on them and will easily get another 10K miles. I will likely replace them before winter, simply because the tread is starting to get low. If I wasn't concerned with extra grip for winter traction, they could probably last an additional year!

I will replace these with the same, technically the newest All Terrain TA K/O2 tire.

I just bought 5 G614s for my rig. So far they are the boss of trailer tires without upgrading my rims..

Michelin LTX MS2 on my truck as well. That was the OEM and they were changed at 120,000 km because the sidewalls were rubbed from the driveway curb and we were heading on a long camping trip. new ones are at 40,000 km and going.

Kumho Road Venture AT's Load Rage E 10 ply. LOVE THEM. I've put 20,000 on them so far and they are awesome. This past winter was nothing for them.

Just be sure that your rims and valve stems are rated for 110 PSI as I think your tires are?

Like Norty1, I have Firestone Transforce HTs on my truck. They are E rated 8-ply tires. I run the GM recommended pressures - 80 psi in the rears and 55 psi in the fronts. I am completely satisfied with them!

The truck came with Bridgestones on it and I went through 2 sets in 74K miles, so decided to try the Firestones, based on a co-worker's recommendation. He has had them on his truck for 15K miles and likes them a lot.

Michelin LTX AT2, the P rated original tires on my F-150 lasted 85,000 miles. I replaced them with the LT version, we'll see how well they last.

Kelly Safari TSR was the last set of tires I had on my F350. They were far superior in every aspect than the Toyo A/Ts & M/Ts I ran before that. I even think they out perform BFG KOs.
