Bike Rack
I have a Jayco Jay Flight G2 I'm looking for advice on a bike rack to carry 2 beach cruisers. I have seen some that attach to the ladder on the rear of the trailer but I don't think that is a good idea to put that weight on the ladder, but I could be wrong. Any ideas on a rack that won't break the bank?

I was looking for the same thing and with ladder over to one side bikes would be in other lane in traffic. Had a friend that put one from hitch attached to rear bumper of trailer almost ripped bumper off and bikes all most got road rash. So I just got the clamps that hold front forks and bolted it to cross box in bed of my truck and now I can take bikes and still put things in bed of truck.

Joe,
I personally not a fan of bike racks mounted off the rear TT bumper without some reinforcement, IMO something mounted off the rear TT frame would be more robust.
I have also seen some bike racks that mount over the LP tanks on the TT A-frame that had some merit. I'm sure a "google" may turn up some pics.

I like the way that the Cougar travel trailers have their set up for holding bikes. They have a platform that has two two steel beams that slide into the C channel of their trailer frame. One just has to pull out the platform from the rear of the trailer and attach the bikes.
I use to hang our bikes off the back of our last trailer on a home made bike rack.
They would bounce around back there and the bikes would have to be covered or the road grime get to them.
I have a canopy on my truck and keep the bikes in the back, after removing the front tires. That has been the best solution so far.

The Jayco Eagle has a similar bike rack option. For $400., I think it is very adequate for my needs.

I had a Swagman that slipped over the ball shank, worked fine on my fold down.
Bought a bumper hitch mount and a piece of 2x2 box to slip the bike rack on on my TT neede to be back far enough to clear my spare tire.
Use straps to keep the bikes from bouncing around!

What is your price that you consider not breaking the bank? I have the bike rack option (cargo tray/bike rack) from Jayco on our trailer that slides out when I need it. It came with the trailer, however I think you can have the dealer add it for you. It is very easy to use. Given that today's bumpers are not sturdy, I would opt for it. The damage to your bumper that could happen given the weight of the bikes might exceed $300 - $400.

I saw some bike racks for about $400.00 and that in my opinion is breaking the bank. I don't mind spend a couple hundred dollars on a sturdy unit, after all I will only carry 2 bikes on it.

If you have a little room on each side of your truck bed, you can mount a 2X4 either to the top of the tool box, or to the bed near the cab. Screw/bolt fork mounts ($16 each) to each end of the 2X4. Transport bikes with front wheels removed. Very stable, and I have lots of room between the bikes for stuff like grills, chairs, etc.
