Black Tank Dump - Low to The Ground

Any tips or tricks when emptying a black tank that is low to the ground? Our X213 has very little ground clearance and our current camping spot's waste station sits quite a bit higher. It was very labor intensive to get my tank emptied this past weekend... lots of closing the valve, "walking" the hose, opening the valve etc... Thanks.

Unless you can change the laws of physics, $hit will always roll downhill.
Other than the obvious like finding a different place to dump, owners like us with the x213 will always have more difficulty emptying the tanks.

Some use a small portable ramp to raise the tank

So.... hook up TV and pull TT up on a set of ramps (both sides) before dumping/leaving the site?

Drive up on your leveling blocks at the dump station, that should raise you a few inches?

My Surveyor SV264 was on TorFlex axles and sat low. I once used 8X8 blocks to get it high enough because the park plumbing was a few inches higher than it should have been... and we were going to be there for a week. I thought of installing a lift kit on that camper but sold it instead.

Had a Jayco hybrid three units ago that the dump was only about 6" off the ground. After the second or third time of having the same problem that you are having, I bought the FloJet Macerator Pump. Never a problem since, and I still use it with my current 5er!

Love that solution! Thanks!

I have the X213 as well and have always had an issue at most of the sites trying to get high enough for the dump to work well. I like the idea of the FloJet Macerator Pump. However looking for them I found several different models and also fixed mount, and portable. Which one are you using?

Thanks,
John

I have the quick-connect version, with the same fittings as a standard sewer hose. I use it when I need to pump-uphill into a dump location, and I use it when I'm set-up for long stay on a site with no services.

I put my "blue-tote" in the bed of my truck, pump into it, and then drive the truck to the dumpsite. It takes an extra 3" gate-valve to do this (for the tank) to keep from spilling anything, but with the right fittings, it works great in those places with on services and a long or rugged run to the dumping site.
