erroroneous lights on panel

What recently worked for me - history first. I purchased my used 5th last fall and the black tank appeared/smelled unused. But the 1/3 indicator would remain lite even after emptying. Reading lots of posts I settled on this plan of attack:

First, I added 1 cup of dawn dish soap AND one cup of Borax (suggested as an alternative to calgon - which many others like myself - can not find). Then I filled the black tank slam full (the overflow of bubbles went up to the roof vent). I allowed this concoction to stew for 3 days; but Drats, after I drained it I still had the 1/3 lite on the panel.

Being stubborn, I added another cup of borax (no dawn) and again filled it slam full (that's southern talk) with water. On day three I drained it -and success! When empty I now have no lights on. Will this work for anyone else? Danged if I know, but it did for me.

In the future I will add a quarter cup/each, before leaving, per future camping trips.

Ohhh, I forgot to mention this, the first drain smelled so good! It must have been the dawn.

I talked to a buddy at work today who suggested dumping a bag of ice into the toilet before your road trip as the ice will slosh around and clean up the tank and sensor. I thought it sounded like a good idea.

I use chemicals in mine, when I dump the black tank I fill it up again 2 times with water and dump it. If the sensors are wet they will not read empty. I also use one of those wands that you put in the toilet and it sprays water in several different directions at a time. After my trailer is parked a few days and all the sensors are dry it reads empty.

I find it at WalMart, in the laundry detergent section. I've recently seen it at Kroger, as well - same section.
