Black Tank Sprayer

Well I guess my 330RLTS now has the same issue.I let the black water flush system go for a little while and shure enough I started to see water leaking out bottom of underbelly.Im wondering if this is something I can take care of myself or I have to drive 2-1/2 hours back to dealer.Im a plumber by Trade so Im shure I can make repairs but I shouldnt have to work on something I just bought.

Novaplum, I will be installing the tornado black flush on my tank shortly. I'm not sure if I will use the hose that came with the system but is using silicone around the plastic part that you screw to the side of your tank the best idea. I was just wondering if using plumbers putty was a better idea. After hearing all these stories of leaks it makes me think I should install a small canister under it with a drain hose attached. Rather redundant but if I was able to install an access under it I would be able to keep an eye on it when doing maintenance.

I also have the 330 RLTS and whenI first bought mine ,during the first outing and the first use, my black flush leaked. When I got back I took it back to the dealer which i was told it was fixed.
Second time out, black water flush started leaking. This time when I got home I took a razor knife and cut a area in my underbelly, enough for me to see why I had a leak. My black water flush was located on the right side of the black water tank. I cut to slits in my underbelly, maybe two feet wide and three foot long, took the screws out of the material and folded the under belly back.
What I found was a easy fix, the connection to the black water flush has a close nipple that screws into the black water flush. Mine was leaking were the nipple screws into the tank. I just unscrewed it and used a better pipe thread sealer. The Jayco sealer was very thin almost like Elmers glue. After I screwd the nipple back in I have not had any leak problems.
Then I just took the underbelly material and folded it back into position, replaced the screws on the frame, then I went to my dealer and they had some special tape that they said was made to fix tears in the underbelly material. I had them give me enough to tape the slits back up. Good as new. I still don't understand why the tech who worked on my RV couldn't do the same thing as me. Anyway Now I know it's fixed and fixed correctly.

Well, Well, Well ! ! Looks like I may have a black tank flush leak. Said I was scared to use it and I did use it last night. Had valves open and hooked it up and turned on the water and it was almost dark but it appears to have water dripping from under belly? Will look in daylight to see? Nearest dealer is 65 miles away, and I will not take it back where I bought it!! Still have not received a email or phone call to see how things were with our purchase? But wait I received a customer satisfaction survey and YES I hammered them good. I was in the car business and I know what this can do to your CSI score.

Thanks for the insight on your repair job,I was just a little bit reluctant to start cutting underbelly untill I had a idea of location of problem area.You think with this many issues on same problem that they would send out a service bulletin.Guess not$$$

Thats funny I got my customer satisfaction survey also and I`m still waiting to see if any other problems should arise before I send it in.:hihi:I sold my 1998 Terry and was never back to dealer once.I know everything has some bugs to get out but I hope these have been addressed already.Two hours after delivery the rear power jacks didnt work,the second time out the refridge fan broke,this past week on vacation the city water hose connection was loose and leaked on the inside of camper,and now my black water flush system.I`m not afraid to fix these myself so not to drive over two hours back to dealer but camper is new so why should I have to due these things.

I know what you mean, I did not want to work on a new camper myself but I did not want to take my Rv back and have to wait a week or two to pickit up if it was a minor problem I could fix. But working on your own is not always right for everyone and your leak might not be the same as mine. I would be curious to find out if everyone is having the same issue as me that is having black tank leak issues. I was also told by others that opening your underbelly yourself could lead to warranty issues but I disscussed what I was going to do with my dealer before I did it. Hope yours is a simple repair also.

My black also tank leaked at the nipple. Teflon tape took care of the problem.

Ok Jayco needs to step in and send out a bulletin or recall to get this fixed! It's obvious that several are having these issues. If I were to try and fix myself where would I start, Oh Yea and WHY should I have to buy it,clean it, service it, and fix their problem that should have been caught by QUALITY CONTROL???

You are absolutely right. When I called the Jayco factory about my black tank leak I was told they weren't aware of any leaks on the 330 rlts. The local Jayco dealers should of caught the leak and fixed it before they sold the trailer to us.

When I get my 330RLTS, I plan on asking them to NOT install the sprayer, especially since I'm going to remove the tank anyway.
