Blue and red hose toilet
Hey folks,
I just acquired a brand new 2017 Jay Flight SLX that came with a blue and red hose for toilet plumbing instead of white (and easier on the eyes).
The hoses are visible as soon as you walk inside the trailer.
Did any of you have the same issue? Can it be fixed?

I can't attach a pic. Sorry, not savvy
I'm referring to the 2 hoses (hot and cold water) located behind the toilet bowl on the Jay flight slx 174bh. Those hoses are usually white, but on my new camper they are blue and red.
Thanks a lot for your reply.

Looking on the Jayco website for that model the toilet shows one supply line coming from the wall and another line going from the foot valve up to the bowl on the backside. Maybe they just picked up some lines that had been spray painted and laying around the shop floor.

G-man - sorry, couldn't resist. What - wait! I thought most of these "motels on wheels" were made in Ft. Wayne (or in my case, Idaho). Ya think some are made in Europe - maybe France?! All of which begs the question, "wonder exactly what bathroom facilities European RV's have we Gringos don't?". Betcha THAT would provide some interesting Forum Poll responses! Any y'all have any experiences with European RV's and - uh - dissimilarities we in the western hemisphere are accustomed to?

Blue & Red Water Lines
Blue & Red water lines have been common in the home building industry for some time. This is the first I've heard of the colored water lines (PEX) being used in the RV industry.
If both of these lines are plumbed to the toilet, this can only mean they are mixing hot and cold for flushing. This is done often in commercial buildings. Warm water keeps the bowl cleaner then cold.
But I'm having a hard time believing this is what you have.

Again, hard to give anything definitive without a photo.
But I'll try. Are both of these lines actually going to your toilet, or are they just running behind your toilet?
If your bathroom sink or shower are on the other side, it may just be hot and cold lines running behind your toilet along the wall. I have this situation in my trailer, although the lines are covered by a piece of wood paneling that is screwed in at an angle to hide the lines. Only the cold line should be running to your toilet.
Someone referenced sticks and bricks toilets having both hot and cold mixed together. This can be true and it is so that very cold water doesn't gather in the tank behind the toilet and make the the tank sweat in the humid summer weather and drip water all over the floor. By mixing hot and cold together, the temperature is tempered, eliminating the sweating. RV toilets do not have a tank so there should be no need for mixing hot and cold.
Of course, if you've got a fancy bidet...

Both my TT's have had a bidet. A very nice convenience.
It also doubles as an outside shower.
Neighbors don't seem to appreciate it tho.

My old fifth wheel had blue and red water lines.....
Ok my Jayco, they used white on everything, and spray painted black on some like one of the washer lines. Assuming that means HOT

Maybe it's for the heated toilet seat, a part of the extreme winter package...

My 2016 Jay Flight has red and blue lines throughout but as others have said I only have a single line feeding my toilet and it is white.

What's the issue? What does "easier on the eyes" mean? Can what be fixed?
If you are asking if the blue and red PEX water lines can be replace with white PEX water lines the answer in yes. Just cut out the blue and red lines, get the appropriate PEX fittings and unions, get a PEX crimp tool and some crimp rings and make the change. About $30 worth of parts from Lowes and about $100 worth of tools and a little skill is all it takes.

A little, white plastic paint, would be faster and cheaper.
