Booth Dinette up or down?

The owners manual says to put the dinette in the bed position, but my service manager says it doesn't matter.

Do you travel with the booth dinette in the table position or in the bed position? Post comments below.

We have had 4 RV's with booth dinettes and always traveled in the table position. Never had a problem.

I voted "It depends" only because sometimes I forget to lower it.

The only time my table is in the lowered position is when I need to use it as a bed for our grandson or friends that stay with us.
I have owned this trailer for 3 years now and have never had an issue.

I travel with it up only because no one has slept on it yet. No sense in making extra work for myself by putting it down.

I think we converted the dinette into a bed once- just to see what it looked lilke. Other than that, it's been a dinette for the last (soon to be) 11 years. We prefer it that way because we can store taller items like the trash cans, small plastic table, step stool and the box with the coffee maker underneath it when we are in travel mode.

I don't recall ever reading in the Jayco Owner's Manual anything that mentioned putting the dinette down when traveling.

Booth Dinette up or down?

On my third trailer and have never lowered one to travel. Never had an issue. I would think that maybe some types of dinettes might be a problem depending on how they are constructed but mine are always good to go.
