brake light issue - resolved thank to the forum

This forum rocks

I needed to tow my new to me 2009 trailer to storage but had no brake lights when it got towed home last weekend. 2 new bulbs solved the running light issue but not the turn/brake light issue.

I did a quick search for brake light issues and found a thread on corrosion causing brake lights to not function properly. A quick filing of the corrosion on the contact tabs with the bulbs and my lights were good to go.

Might want to get dielectric grease and coat the bulb ends so the problem does not come back.

Good Suggestion - I also think not being left in a mountain area where it snows during the winter will also help.

I had a Brake light not work, but turn signal would work. Intermitent. Found TV "Chevy" has a module, which can short out. Used meter to find out the TV was the problem. Went to dealer and had to explain twice before they believed me. Replaced Module and 7 months later still happy.
