Camping below freezing?

Hello fellow TT owners,

I have an X213 that I need to pull out of storage and put in my driveway for a couple of weeks at Christmas. The challenge is that most of those days will have lows in the lower to mid 20's and highs just above freezing. I will have the water connected to a hose. Is there any tricks to make sure that I don't cause myself any problems with freezing pipes/joints/lines during this time?

The inside will be heated the entire 2-weeks.

Thanks in advance for any advice!

I would get a heated hose to bring water in to the unit. Available at camping world. That should help to keep it from freezing at the input to your unit.

Do you have a way of keeping the underbelly above freezing?

Double-check that none of the fresh water lines run underneath.

What about the waste water?

Pretty spendy anywhere you buy them. Looks like camping world only has a few to choose from. Amazon has dozens in case you want to really see whats out there.

I don't think your unit has an enclosed heated underbelly. If not I would not put any water in the camper.

With my enclosed an heated underbelly, I fill my freshwater tank and run off it.
My concerns then are freshwater tank drain valve and Grey water dump valve.

EV4D, we are about to get a very cold stretch of weather here in the NW (I'm in Snohomish). Unless you have an insulated underbelly, heated tanks, lots of propane to run heat 24/7 or extra money for Seattle City Light and run a space heater and a heated hose I think you are in for trouble. I have winterized our motorhome and when the daughter and future husband stay in it this Christmas they can use the house for all their toiletry needs. If daughter objects then its a gallon of RV antifreeze in the black tank and they can do #1 only in the coach. I'll flush the black tank out after they leave.

Thanks for the replies. I think you are right - I know I don't have a winter version of the trailer and so I may just have to tell my Sister in Law to appreciate the trailer without running water.

thanks everyone!

Temp is not the only factor. How long it will be below freezing and how much above it gets for how long have a lot to do with such a calculated risk. To me, the factor of low 20s with not much above freezing for highs is a major concern here.
