Camping memorial day weekend

So who is camping this weekend in tis lovely weather. We are laying in our bed camping at lake George RV park. Our first time out with the new rig. Got here Friday afternoon and it has been pouring. Guess what the weather man says more to come yay. Well the new camper is nice takes allot of getting used to when you are used to the old one you had. So far everything working. Pulling in my awning at night and if we go anywhere. That is a bit of a pain when its raining. Wish I had got a manual awning, I could tilt it strap it and be good for the trip. Well hope everyone is out this weekend no matter the weather camping is awesome. Best of luck to you all with new rigs also.

Camped last weekend. Don't do holidays - too busy / noisy in the parks with all the amateurs.

Re: Camping memorial day weekend

We are out braving the elements ourselves. No rain but cold temps and the campground is super wet from the late spring. There are campers and vehicles stuck all over. I needed 4 wheel drive just to back into my site it's crazy! Good camping to you and hope you get to enjoy some of your weekend.

We arrived at Lake Tahoe today.
Sunny and 65F during the day, down to 35 at night.
This place is beautiful. We have a site next to a mountain stream.
The internet is weak, so I'll posts pics later.
Best regards,
Doug

Beautiful....but I have to tell you, a leaning picnic table is a pet peeve while camping - and that one looks like it needs a bag of Lynx Blocks

Enjoy the scenery!!!!!

Amazing pictures Doug, I'm so jealous. We're hanging home all weekend at the beach and BBQ-n. We're in a beachfront community and traffic is horrible this weekend should we leave and try to come back. Not to mention bike week still going on..

PM sent. Things quiet down a little after this weekend but not for long since schools start letting out in a few weeks.

We are at Yogi in the Smokies Cherokee NC. This is our 3rd and longest trip in our 32bhds. I completely understand about having a trailer that you are used to and then changing up . I had my last trailer for 9 yrs and still miss it but this one does have more room and features we did not have . Everything is working fine and it towed well.
This campground is very nice but very busy since its a holiday weekend. Awesome for kids though.Lots of activities throughout the day for all ages of kids.

We never camp at a campground during holidays, too crazy. Glad we didn't even do the backyard this weekend..snow, sleet and rain all weekend. Temps here in lovely upstate NY, near cooperstown never got abouve 40. Wind would blow and turn the rain to snow. Frost in the mornings. Stated inside and turned the heat on..ugh..almost June and the heat is on. Enjoy all your warm places this weekend and remember the campers in the adirondaks that got over 18 inches of snow yesterday.

It was a little crazy here in Tahoe last night. A church group of about 50 adults and teenagers were playing dance music so loud I could hear it inside my camper 50 yards away. Finally at 10:30p, I think 3 sheriffs explained the policy to them more clearly. Otherwise, we were going to have an Allman Brother's concert tonight. Just sayin :-)

It was really ridiculous. I always expect a little more than normal noise over the holidays, but this went way beyond just annoying.

Hopefully a more peaceful night tonight lol

Doug

We rarely go away for any holiday so we're home. However, when did Memorial Day become such a festive holiday? While I out yesterday, I passed two churches that had signs proclaiming "Happy Memorial Day". Happy? Since when? While we do have "happy" activities like barbeques, picnics, parties and the like, we should NEVER lose sight of what Memorial Day is all about.

I only hope that everyone has at least taken a moment from their "Happy" Memorial Day to pause, reflect, say a prayer and/or give thanks to all of those who paid the ultimate price for keeping the freedom we enjoy here in the USA.
