Can I connect a digital/HD Antenna into Cable TV Input?

Will this work? I am having my Windguard digital antenna repaired (currently) and am wondering if there is a way to pick up digital TV over-the-air signals (in the mean time) using the cable tv input that I have on my trailer. Will hooking up an additional HD antenna at this input work?

Thanks.

I can't see why not. You may need to turn off the installed antenna amplifier near where the main TV connects to prevent interference. It's usually just a push button and the LED goes off.

Well that's a antenna in, but I think it's on the unpowered side. So, that's a really good question. On my trailer I did some re-cabling inside the trailer and now use the outside one to connect the outside TV. I removed it from the jack where it went into the amplifier unit and used a splitter off the antenna lead. But I'm guessing if (as mentioned) you turn off the amplifier it "Should" work. It certainly won't hurt anything.
Please let us know!

I have one similar to this: https://www.groupon.com/deals/gg-hd-...String=digital antenna as seen on tv&utm_ProductId=47048212&utm_TargetId=kwd-1100308780090&mr:referralID=f563b3f4-6a27-11e6-a3c0-005056946dac

It's not powered but picks up pretty good signals if the stations are close enough. It has suction cups and goes on the inside of a window.

IF you use a residential style antenna it will work.. but wont work with an RV style antenna.

If your second OTA Antenna needs 12VDC on the same RG cable to power up an internal RF Amplifier located inside the second antenna the answer will be NO. There is no 12VDC Power associated with the CABLE TV Input connector

You can always just run something through the window and plug directly into your TV set you want to watch.

Perhaps your second antenna has an 120VAC transformer to plug into the wall to get DC power for the antenna pre-amplifier... Hook all of that up and plug directly into the TV set ANTENNA Input
