Cloudy water...?

I'm getting cloudy water but only on the hot water lines? Anyone ever ran into this?

Yep, my water pump injects a bit of air in the water.. enough to make you do a double take sometimes. Nothing is leaking, so I don't worry about it.

Would air affect only hot water lines? I filled a clear plastic cup with water from the cold water and hot water at both sinks and shower.. the cold water is pretty clear but the hot water is very cloudy...

Have you ever winterized it with antifreeze?
It took me a long time to get the antifreeze residual out of the hot water line and it stayed cloudy for quite a while...i got a bunch in the hot water tank by accident.

it was winterized when i bought it 6-7 months ago. i cleared the lines and have been using it for 6 months no problem.

it seemed to get like that within the last 2 weeks. about the last 6 weeks i have been using the hot water very little.. well using as little later as possible to conserve it so I'm wondering because water sat in the water heater tank not being used it caused that?

Maybe drain the hot water tank and see what comes out.

Important part is to know for a fact if we're talking about tiny bubbles - or contamination.

When you set the cloudy water down for a minute... does it clear up starting from the bottom to the top? (that's what mine does) If your water doesn't do that, I sure as <insert word of choice> wouldn't drink it.

Thanks thats a good idea... I'm not exactly sure how to drain the hot water heater? I have a 2016 jay flight 24 FBS. The cover/ lid is on the right side of trailer. There is a star age compartment below that with a low point drain...?

Yes there is bubbles but the water from the hot water line is not clear.. it's pretty cloudy.

I don't know of any other hot water tanks besides Atwood and Dometic, you must have one of them. They both have a drain inside the cover at the bottom, under the burner.
It's a big hex head that a socket would fit on.
Atwood is white plastic and Dometic is steel.
Make sure you release pressure first.

I flush my water heater every spring when I dewinterize. Remove the large hex bolt/anode and rinse with fresh water using a flush wand. I'm always surprised at what rinses out. Then I flush all the water lines until they run clear. My hot lines are always cloudy after dewinterize even though no antifreeze gets into the water heater....it's still in the lines.
Maybe I'm paranoid but I always run fresh water thru a filter before it enters the coach. Had an onboard filter in my last rv and bought one for the new coach. The filter at least keeps debris from getting into the system.

I seen a video on YouTube about flushing it. Going to get that flush wand tomorrow... do you know if you can get one of those anywhere besides camping world? Did your cloudy water clear up after flushing the water heater?

I'd flush the entire water system and see if that helps, bypassing the HWH. Open all the faucets and grey tank and let it run. If it runs clear, the cloudiness is most likely coming from the HWH. I'd flush that after. But from my experience, air could be the culprit. It will cloud water. An easy way to tell if it's air is, put some water in a clear glass. If it clears after a bit of sitting, it's most likely air.

I have seen water cloudy with air bubbles on the hot but not cold before so googled it and this came up. Likely what you are experiencing.

I picked up my water heater flush wand at my local W-mart. They had several in stock.

I just drained my hot water tank to winterize it and noticed a fair bit of sediment in the bottom of the tank. Need to flush that out in the spring.

Good idea above to bypass the hot water tank and see if the problem persists. That would isolate the issue anyway. Flushing will probably cure it.

thanks for the help and info guys. i flushed my water heater out and used a tool that hooks up to the water hose. then took the faucets apart and cleaned them out and that worked water is all clear.
