Coleman Mach A/C Question
I have a Coleman Mach A/C on my Jay Flight 26BHS. I'm installing my Progressive Industries Electrical Management System and I need to know if the Coleman A/C unit has a time delay built into it or not when the AC Power is interrupted. Any help will be appreciated,
John
Forgot to add: My A/C units model is 8333C

Yes I think the Coleman Mach A/C does have a delay built in to it when the power is interrupted.

I still set mine to the long delay - I just think it adds another layer of protection and avoids unnecessary cycling of other systems. It is kind of a pain when you first hook up to wait, but well worth it I think.

I remember reading some of the manuals, and I think the delay is built into the thermostat. This past summer I thought I lost my ac, but then it worked later. Do not remember how long the delay was.

Since you have one, I noticed the display has contacts on all four sides, can the display be oriented in any direction?

I have the remote display, so I have not messed with the internal. I know it can be rotated, but I am assuming it only two ways since it appears the rectangular cover would block the otherwise. Just make sure you are disconnected from a power source before you mess with that display or it supposedly will blow the main board.

Taf, after looking at the cover real closely, the display window is square and since now I'm sure that the display can be oriented in any direction that gives me more satisfaction and choice as to where to place my box. Thanks,
John
BTW, weren't you one of the ones that NAGGED me into buying this thing? If so, thanks man.

Funny thing is, my wife is the one who became aware of the need for the EMS and pushed me to do the research which ultimately you guys lead me to the PI EMS units. Yep, we both will have one less thing to worry about and that is worth it right there (not to mention the expensive replacement/repairs prevention).

I just got a reply from an email I sent to the Manufacturer and they said the A/C unit itself does not have the delay built into it, but the thermostat does. So for those that replaced the thermostats with another brand might not have a delay. Also the Coleman Branded thermostats have a 3 minute delay. I HTH's others.

I have another vehicle with a standard manually controlled Coleman unit (no thermostat). If you try to turn it back on in less than 3 or 4 minutes, it has a real hard start and then blows the breaker. I assume it is because the pressures have not equalized yet and the compressor can not start up with that much head pressure on it. Cant be good for it!

I finally got the EMS installed. The only place I had to put it was under the bathroom sink, that's why had to choose the integrated display.
I think I found another cubic foot of storage space. lol
