Connected to 115v?

Hello guys,

I'm sure my question has been asked before, but I would like to know if there's any problem leaving my TT connected to the 115v 24/7 ?

If you have a smart charger built into your converter it will extended the battery life.

You should be good with leaving it plugged in. Make sure and check the water in the battery from time to time.

I disconnect the battery from the 12V circuit after the first day or so of being on shore power while in storage...keeps the battery from charging dry. A day or so before a trip I put the battery back on-line to top it off.

When you do that, how often do you check the water in the battery?

I'm new at this, and Since I have to buy a new battery (My used pop-up came with a bum battery) I want to extend it's life. I don't expect to use it very often this first year, as we already had plans for most of the summer.

Because it's not being continuously charged I check it about once a month during the summer. I usually only have to add a tiny bit of water every year. Maybe 1/4-1/2 cup per cell if that.

Jayco could have helped me tremendously by giving me about 3" more battery cable so the tray would slide out and stay out while trying to check level..feel lik ei need 5 hands to do this everytime.

Level your trailer perfectly in your driveway or other suitable surface and then apply the small stick on levels to the outside of your coach. I prefer the drivers front corner that way I can check them and hop back in the truck without any outside assistance.

Lots of people trash talk the stick on levels but I've had several trailers with them and they work just fine. The key is taking your time on the initial installation.
