Converters

I found the internet linc on my converter in my owners manual. When I went on the site it had something about a IQ4 CHARGE CONTROLLER FOR DLS which is basically a module that you can buy, plug it into you converter which and I quote
"The IQ4 Charge Controller offers automatic charging control for DLS
Battery Chargers, providing longer and safer use of your system’s
battery. The IQ4 Controller allows the DLS Charger to operate as an
automatic 3-stage “smart charger” that gives the customer the benefit
of Bulk, Absorption, and Float stage charging. Three-Stage Charging
increases the charging capacity of the DLS charger and decreases
the charge time while insuring proper and safe battery charging and
minimizing the possibility of over-charging. The IQ4 monitors the battery
at all times. If the DLS voltage remains in the Float stage for more
than seven days, the IQ4 will automatically enter the Equalization stage
for a predetermined time to help maintain the battery plates, and then
resume float stage charging."
Has anybody added this to your converter? It's only about a $25.00 option but it does sound like it would be worth it.:hihi::hihi::hihi:

Most of the Jayco DLS converters appear to be custom made and do not have the ability to add the IQ4....I searched high and low all over mine using a mirror when I first go it.....the port was not to be found....

The IQ4 is compatible to IOTA brand converter/chargers only, and they were used in Jayco products until 2010. The IOTA converter/chargers that were not mounted to the back of the ILC Load Center (breaker/fuse panel) were the only units that would accept the IQ4 plug-in.

The fact that you have a 2011 model Jayco, I believe they now come with a Progressive Dynamics converter/charger and they are 3-stage units that include the Progressive Dynamics Charge Wizard.
