My TT will be getting a lot of sun exposure on the roof (rubber) while its parked in my yard. I don't want to put a cover on it because I will be taking it out to camp often and that would be too difficult. Would a tarp over the roof be good enough during spring and summer to keep the sun from beating on it while it's sitting? I bought the tire covers so those will be good.
Our Jayco dealer said using a blue tarp on the roof would void the warranty.
I do believe that there are fitted covers that are OK to use. I think there were some in the store.
I didn't pay attention as we are in a heavily treed area.

The problem with a tarp is that it will rub. Rubbing will wear through the roof. A properly fitted cover won't rub the roof and wear through.
My previous trailer was 17 years old, never covered and the roof was never washed. I put eternabond on the edges where it meets the wall and never maintained it any further. A low hanging branch ripped a hole in the roof... but other than that it was in fine shape.
My current trailer is parked under a RV carport, mainly to keep it clean.

If you do the tarp thing it will create heat and humidity build-up inside and that's not good.

We live in the Phoenix, area, have sun all year round, I have never covered the RV nor have I ever had an issue.

Great! Thanks for the info. I live in the North so we get all weather conditions but I really don't want to have to deal with a cover if I don't have to.
Trailers stored in RV yards here in Maine never have covers. Its expected that you service your roof here every two years.
We do see tarped rigs in yards.. they are becoming typical Northern New England yard art and are probably tarped because they leak and the owners lack the means to get the roof fixed.

I second on fitted cover if my daughter helps hold the front of the cover from moving i can get on in 10min max, and takes almost 10 to take it off.
Now this was first time putting it on everytime after that went great.
