cracked tires

I just bought a 2010 starcraft/jayco 297BHS travel trailer last week and was going through everything. Looking at the tires they look real good except where it looks like they sat on the ground. You can see the line on them where it sank in the ground about 1-2" up the tire. This area is pretty cracked. rest of the tire looks good. Do I need to replacement them.

Thanks
Chris

I run ST tires 4 years, no matter how they look after 4 years I change them. There is a manufacturing date on the tires, its in code usually 4 digits, the last two digits are the year. The tires could have been a year old when they were put on the trailer. I would replace them if they were mine. Tires degrade from UV and ozone, you can't stop the process.

The tires are cheaper than the damage they can cause. Let that always be your guide.

I don't know about every 4 years but if they are cracked I certainly would replace them.

I change all my tires (vehicle and RV) are 5 years from DOT Mfg Date. I am not willing to risk the damage, frustration, and hassel by pushing tires beyond that point.

Thanks for the reminder, I agree completely but just forgot to check. I should be due in a couple of months.
