Decal Problems

We have a 2011 eagle 5th wheel we bought in july 2010 Since we've had the camper we would get a bubble once in awhile under the decal, didnt think much about it, this spring it looks like someone took a shot gun to them there were so many bubbles. I contacted Jayco service dept and what they told me is that in my year range the company that supplies the fiber glass used a different material and caused small defects in the fiberglass causing the problem, they also said they had to remove the decals and have the fiber glass on some trailers sanded and sealed with a gel coat to fix the problem. Since ours is 10 months out of warranty they wont cover it, but offered $ 1000.00 for good will. We wanted to keep this 5th wheel for a while, we bought a Jayco thinking it was a quality product and company, but now I am having doubts, I am hoping this is not a bigger poblem down the road, probably why they said I could use the 1000.00 toward a new one. They also said new decals would not help. Anyone have any thoughts or have had this problem.

I've got bubbles on my 08 and just punch them with a pin and smooth it down when they come up. Not a big deal for me.

x2. I'd take the 1,000 and live with the decals.

Sounds like your being offered $1000 or nothing for an out of warranty RV. I know what I would take.

$1000 is a lot for what most would consider a cosmetic issue. Take it and maybe get a quote from a local shop to fix it?

We have a similar problem on our Eagle. Jayco told us to take it back to the selling dealer (World Wide RV) in Arizona and have it repaired. Their service guy couldn't fix some other problems that an Idaho dealer easily took care of. We have seen 5 year old repairs on similar problems and the mismatched paint can be seen from far away so we will live with the small bubbles.
