detect leak while in storage

This must have been a common issue for all RV owner that uses long term storage. I just do not know the answer. Can you please share your thought ?

I store my brand new jay flight travel trailer in long term storage. I have this constant worry that if there is a leak that develop while in storage, and rain pour in, I would not be able to know about it until weeks or months.
So the leak will be there, and the rain will pour in for weeks or months.
By the time I come and pick it up, the water leak already happened for a long time and damage has already spread out all over the place.

I guess it's the same issue with a vacant vacation home.

Can you please share your thought, on how you deal with that type of worries ? How to minimize the risk ? How to detect ? etc.
How to detect before putting the RV in storage ?

Even if there is no leak before we park the RV, the leak can develop while sitting in storage (joint/seam expansion due to hold/cold and temperature changes)

Do you have lesson learned to share ?

Can you put a cover on it? If you have easy access, you can check it every other week.

Like Murff said" check it every few weeks". Not only should you check for water but you have mice and rats that can do as much or even more damage to it. Rats can destroy it in a week.
