Digital Thermostat

I have a 2015 White Hawk with a 15,000 btu air conditioner and an Atwood furnace and would like to replace the analog thermostat to a digital thermostat. Has anyone done this? What would you recommend if you did. Any help would be appreciated.

It's been done and discussed by many folk around here. Click on the search tab and enter "digital thermostat".

You'll see your thread and many others.

Generally, it is not hard (if you have a clue with electrical stuff).

And I don't recall anybody posting regrets after making the conversion.

Yes, do a search for the details. It is an easy swap with the same wire colors on the digital as the oem analog tstat. Just disconnect one wire at a time and reconnect the same color wire from the digital. That way you won't get confused. then reconnect the fixture to the wall and you are done. Takes longer to get out your tools than to actually do the swap. New TTs should come with the digital but they don't. Analog is so yesterday but jayco must have a warehouse of the analogs and the digitals are more $$$'s. Think mine was $65.

This was the best upgrade I've done. The factory analog was junk, temperature was all over the place. You will need to get the manufacturer, model, serial number off your A/C unit, usually it's under the plastic cover inside where your inlet filter is. It does make a difference, you want to get the right T-stat for your unit. It was not easy to get the right digital for my A/C unit , could believe how many different digital T-stats there are for Coleman A/C units.

I did this on my 2015. The analog would literally allow a 5 degree swing in temp below and above where it was set and it was impossible to dial in the right temp.

I bought a digital thermostat the same brand as my analog and it was as simply as disconnecting the wires and reattaching the wires. Super easy.

Household digital thermostats are way cheaper, but they don't work (at least not for long) in an RV. Buy the right tool the first time.

Just completed this swap. Quick & Easy change. I used Makarios RV supplies (Link is in the Thread), they have an excellent chart of all Analog T-stats and their Digital replacements. Best price, no sales tax, and had it in 4 days.

I put in a cheap house one, actually the same one as in our house. The only thing to think of is do you need 2 fan speeds for a/c? I wired ours to high speed.

I used the exact match from Coleman. Cost a few dollars more but since I'm not an electrician, it was an easy wire to wire switch out. More sense to me but each one of us has varying degrees of expertise. Some go the less expensive route and save money. For me, its saving money by going the more expensive route because even I could not screw it up! LOL

I don't see the chart. That link takes me to pictures of someone's trailer.
