First trailer we had it had a booth. The 33rlds has Table and Chairs. The bunglow we bought has a booth and as soon as we can find a table with 2 chairs that matches the wood we are going to take the booth out and put the table and chairs in. We will not move the Bunglow so e=we don't have to worry about tieing down the chairs. Wife and I like the table and chairs much better.

Marie & Walter - I will build the table myself. The table will be made out of oak and finished to match the rest of the interior. I considered a trestle support but decided to use a pedestal because it is the least intrusive. I will glue a wood screwing plate to the existing plywood subfloor of the slideout to give additional thickness to attach the pedestal. Removing the existing seat/storage boxes should cause no issue with the existing carpet. Only the holes in the walls will need to be patched or covered. Search on 'remodel' and you should find pictures of the bathroom remodel I finished in my 2008 26BHS last fall. I'm excited for spring so I can enjoy the updates.
The 266RKS is a beautiful unit that I'm sure you will enjoy.
Best regards,

We've never tied down the chairs in either of our trailers. The table in our current trailer is not bolted down. Neither it or the chairs have move while traveling.

I have had 2 rigs with table and chairs. The table is screwed to the floor. The chairs do not move while in transit.

We've had both and prefer the T&C by far. BUT, our Eagle came with a central pedestal which is held to the floor by short screws and pulls loose on a bad road. Since it's in a slide, the screws cannot be longer. If yours is in a slide you may want to look for a table that has legs or is otherwise secured in place.

I am concerned about just screwing the pedestal mounting plate to the plywood subfloor in the slide out. My idea is to add additional thickness to the subfloor by gluing a 1' square oak plate to it then screw the pedestal to both. I thought Jayco would have been smarter than to just screw a pedestal to plywood.

I have completed the conversion to a pedestal table with chairs and like the change a lot.
I built the table and purchased unfinished chairs that I finished myself to match the existing wood work in the trailer. I modified the divider at the end of the couch to include wains coat with a chair rail. I like the pedestal table versus a table with legs because even though removing the booth seating made for a much more open area, space is still an issue.

Nice job Tim! Looks like it came that way from the factory only better. Now if you can find some chair cushions to match the couch, you're there. Oops, maybe I shouldn't have said that. Another project.

Tim... The table & chairs look awesome! Great job. Now I have to consider this mod for my new Eagle 266.

With a family of 6 we prefer the booth. With chairs I would be concerned on how to secure them during traveling to prevent damage.

Bungee Cord around one leg of each chair to the table post in the middle.

Swap new table and chairs for a newer dinette booth
I just bought a 2018 Jayco Eagle HT fifth wheel with table and chairs. Anyone in the greater phoenix area want to swap for a dinette in good condition.???

With 4 grandchildren under the age of 4, we need all the possible sleeping and storage areas as possible that the booth offers, no brainer for us. if it was just me and the wife, it would most likely be chairs, but probably wouldn't matter that much either way.

We have the booth. We need it because of storage space. My 23RB doesn't have the palatial space of a 5'er or 32' travel trailer. It also doesn't have a pantry. Nor as much under sink storage space as our old Koala 21CS.
So we use one of the tubs under the dinette for heavy food items, and the other tub for necessary pots and pans.

We chose the T&C's for the same reasons many on here have. Don't need the storage, don't need the extra sleeping space, much easier to get in and out of and make the slide feel a lot more open, probably because it is.
The chairs in our Eagle TT came with anchor straps that secure them to the floor but suspect they wouldn't move much, if at all, even if they weren't anchored down.

Booth. Had table and chairs in our old Puma and we didn't like them. Our 27.5rkds we ordered the booth and it works much better for us. Just 2 of us and no kids or grandkids that want to camp..
