Dish Pans

We have mostly overhead storage in our 19RD. I am vertically challenged (short) . I use under-the-bed soft zippered storage for towels, blankets, and tablecloths and keep those under the dinette benches. I have several cloth bins that I keep supplies in that I can usually get out of the overhead cabinets without too much trouble over the dinette and couch, however, the cabinets over the bed were a challenge. I went to Big Lots (I am sure any Walmart, etc would do) and purchased the biggest dish pans they had. They were $2.50 each. My husband and I each have our own dish pan for our clothes. They fit up there because it is the front end of the camper so there is more front to back room. They slide easily in and out and I can actually grab mine from the floor (even having to reach over the bed) on tiptoe! They are deep enough to hold clothes for the weekend and this way we can pull our curtain and still get dressed even if the blinds are open or our kids are also inside (they only camp once in a while with us).

Just thought I would share this idea as I have gotten several ideas from this forum!

Thanks for the tip.

At 5'9" I can almost reach 1/2 way into the overhead storage. SWMBO has an exclusive on the bedroom closet.

Bins would definitely help getting stuff from over the bed. Somebody posted about smaller bins for the cupboards over the sink.

Any suggestions for additional counter space. The cell phones and keys seem to usurp the chunk near the door.

I have a small 10" drawer for my stuff. wife gets the rest of the camper. It's like her own walk-in closet with a television and refrigerator.

Don't forget it's a "Climate Controlled" walk-in closet.

Oh my! My husband likes to just fold his stuff and throw it in the corner on the floor (at least he folds it) while I am always trying to straighten up and put things away! I don't like the camper to get too messy because it is too small to leave things laying everywhere. Your camper is way bigger than ours!

Yeah it is but you'd be surprised how fast it can get messed up. My wife taught me (she says) better than to throw my stuff on the floor or bunched up in a corner. Although just the sound of doing it makes me giddy! . I came in one night to change my shirt and 'forgot' to put it in the proper place and caught H*ll over it. She called me back to our camper (was at a friends camper at the time) to put the shirt where it belongs. Lesson learned.

Love you honey! (just in case she reads this)

Yep our cell phones go there too. I did buy the stove cover from Camping World that gives a little counter space when you are not using the stove. Today I bought a cutting board at Walmart that fits the small sink so that I can have some counter space when using the stove without losing the ability to use the sink. My husband talked about maybe putting a shelf somewhere near the outlet by the bed, up high enough so as not to hit our heads, but I don't know about that. When it is just the two of us we can plug our tablets in over by the dinette. I won't complain about the lack of counter space though because I moved up from a pop-up and am just excited that the bed is already made when we get where we are going!

oh, and the keys hang on the little hooks where the controls are -- we have carabiners on all our keys

Ahhhh, what little hooks near the controls?

None on my unit...yet.

All the controls are nicely hidden behind a mirrored door.

Hey Mike, I bought some clear plastic soap dish holders that have the suction cups on them and used heavy duty tacks to tack them to the side of the upper cabinet. Down below is a plug in beside the kitchen sink and all I have to do is pop them in the dish and plug them up

I've seen those soap holders.... Yeah, they would do great to hold the flip phones!

So, I'm off to Wally World for a bunch of bins, some decretive screw hooks and a soap holder!
What's another $50 at The Big Box Store?
