Unfortunately I don't have a picture of it -- forgot at the time that my cell phone could take photos -- but one camping trip we stopped in the parking lot beside the campground office, and DW waited in the truck while I ran in and registered. When I came out, in front of us was parked an old 1980's era Chevy half-ton towing a larger trailer that was even older. No WDH in sight, which was evidenced by the fact that the rear of the pickup, with tired springs and blown shocks, was probably only 6" above the ground. The front of the truck was incredibly nose high. It was a classic example of why weight distribution hitches are necessary. This campground was only half an hour outside the city, but I find it incredible that he made it that far without killing someone.

How to load with no trailer?

Walmart couple years back, think he needed the Cat Scale.

It was parked amongst all the other trucks/trailers whoes owners were out on the lake. We stared in disbelief and even considered hanging out waiting to see what happened when the owner got back. My only theory is that a truck was used to launch the boat and then the truck needed to leave for some reason. They didn't want to take the trailer with them so they locked it to the Miata. It was a crazy sight, wish I'd had a camera.
When we are out on our jet ski I alway wonder what people think when they see a one ton diesel truck with a 12 foot jet ski trailer in the parking lot. The polar opposite of what you saw! LOL

Found these on the net. May not quite fit the discussion. They still made me scratch my head and wonder. Especially the guy in the white Lambo. Looks like a trip to the Depot for supplies. If ya got that kind of cash, couldn't ya buy at least a beater truck for Depot runs? And pulling trailers with Porsches!!!

Aw, he was just wanting to take that boat for a flume ride down Mesaba Avenue (10% grade) and then splash into Lake Superior!

Being nose down by 2 INCHES helps with sway, wonder if he thought that nose down by 2 FEET would eliminate it?

I took this picture about an hour ago at our local Wally world. They had a license plate from a land way up north so they have a long drive home when the season ends here next month. I hope they're not towing with that hitch angled down like it is.

The above picture from posted by Desert RVers: There are some bright RVers in this world. This could cause a major accident on a fast lane highway. Probably only 5% of the RVers are that reckless. I kept the 5% low so you can quote me on that.

This was seen today in Lancaster PA, but not in the Wally World parking lot as you might expect; this was actually at Target. Maybe they were on the way to give the TT a decent burial.

Trailer fail pics

There is a cussing filer in place, but it seems like there is a challenge to get stuff past the radar. Enjoy?
Man, some of those were hilarious! I never saw so many bad welds, either. I haven't touched a stinger in over 40 years and I bet I still could do better.

My ex and I moved a 26' travel trailer we gutted and remodeled back when we were in college from TX to AZ back in '71 with a 1950 Plymouth station wagon and no equalizer hitch. the best we could do was 25 mph before the tail started wagging the dog.

I had to move a big shed after my divorce to my parents house. I rented a the only trailer I could find in town supposedly big enough to handle the shed without also renting a truck with a pintle hook. Or, rather, the rental place said it could handle it. My Daddy and I jacked up the shed on cinder blocks and railroad ties, backed the trailer under the shed, then lowered the shed onto the bed of the trailer. The shed bed went right down on top of the tires (mutter, mutter, mumble, mumble). We jacked it up again, cut some 4x4 blocks to go between the trailer frame and the springs, duct taped them placed, then let the shed back down again. We took our sweet time towing the shed and, thank God, had no trouble but I'm never doing that again (especially since I'm now too old for that "stuff").

This one's been posted elsewhere on the forum before, but I couldn't resist.

Someone needs to balance out their tongue weight!
