Darn! I camped over night in Alma, Neb. last year and took a couple pics of a parked F350 dually that barely had it's steer axle still on the ground. The guy had a gooseneck trailer way overloaded with large bales of hay. Tail was dragging, it looked like it was driving up a ramp! Somehow the pics weren't there later that day when I wanted to message them to a truck driver friend of mine.

I know this thread is a bit old but I thought of it when I saw this on the road today.

What's the towing capacity on a Honda Accord? The U-Haul site lists those trailers at 1920 lbs empty. If there's anything in that trailer it's overweight. Plus there's no sway control of any kind, what happens when a crosswind hits that trailer?

And this is a US spec Accord, there's probably differences.

On the Accord, best I can find is the car weighs around 3200 and as for towing capacity, I got one number, a thousand pounds. Couldn't find that 3000+ myself. And since it's basically a beer can with an engine, I wouldn't want to stress it at all. But as my two Honda Civics, a '74 and a '79, both croaked at 50k, even with valve maintenance, etc., I might be tempted to say to heck with it and pull whatever. Yes, I have a long grudge cycle.

There is no point in going into discussion re US vs. EUR towing capacity. Basically, the same cars, different towing capacity due to marketing department decision.
For me, European, this setup is not shocking and is seen very often in Europe. I understand that may be shocking for truck owners, but I can help it...
