Does refrigerator need power?

We have a Jay Flight 26bh with a Norcold refrigerator . We will be camping in Yellowstone National Park this summer and will be off the power grid. I have installed a battery shut-off on my battery box and I am planning to shut off all power to the camper while we are seeing the sights during the day. I am wondering if the fridge needs any power while running off propane? Any helpful thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks

Yes if its a newer trailer with the DSI type fridge it takes 12 volts to light the propane as they do not have a pilot light. if its a older trailer then you might have a pilot light then it does not need a 12 volt source to run

As OldBue said, you need the 12 volt to run the frig. Does not take much, but some....

If you dry camp often you may want to consider a solar charger for your battery.

Make sure you turn off your power amplifier for the TV (little button behind the TV) if you have one...you will pull a little power from your propane detector as well. If you have your 7 pin wired up right on your truck, and the fuse connected - it will provide a little power to help charge up your battery. You could run your car for a little while each afternoon as needed to help top off your battery. If you practice a little conservation, I think you will be just fine!
